Question about Risk screen failure

I’m a personal banker for WF for almost two years – today an investigator called me saying I opened a jo––t LLC business account with one of the owners failing the risk screen (his wf account was in the negative apparently) I don’t recall the risk failure screen popping up – and investigation has been opened.

What are the consequences for this?? Am
I fu–––d?

If you don’t remember then just say that. Ask them questions back. If they say did you override a risk screen, ask “are you saying an actual risk screen came up?” It will also give you an idea of what info they actually have. Also, The risk screen systems are not perfect. People can also get negative bus risk screens if they put any type of freeze or alert on their credit, for protection.

@2yrz+1avbSE2L outside of San Fran Sicko public education, the word is generally “advice”.

Your “advice” is not good. (Not an “ill one”.. Advise is a verb, and action word. As is “I advise you to...”.

In business people will judge you based upon written and spoken language.

@2yrz+1avbSE2L. OP should just tell the truth no more no less. Your advise is an ill one.

Also there has been times where it shows a report that they failed but when banker did risk screen it passed. You must check the business account application it will tell you

The negative risk screen page is pretty obvious and I don’t know how you could have just blown past it. Did the person that failed the risk screen get added as a signer or an owner? What happened to me once was a business owner failed risk screen at another branch and the owners changed the business docs to remove that person as an owner and came to me and opened the account adding that person as a signer not owner. I had no knowledge of the negative risk screen and signers aren’t risk screened but it still became a BSP alert and risk got involved before we finally figured out what happened. I don’t think you’ll be let go, especially if it wasn’t done on purpose and it the first time. I’m a branch manager now and my branch is always under some type of internal investigation for stuff that just too straight forward. Wells is investigating everything now because they went for years investigating nothing. It’s just the process, stay calm and answer truthfully.

you better run, start applying for new jobs, and then leave it for the company to deal with their own issues due to bad management

Look at the business account application, it will show risk screen results to ensure that was the case.

I don't see how it took this long to show up. I had one call me about a credit card. They weren't after me but someone else. Just tell the truth and you will be okay .

If it was an honest mistake you should be fine. Just don’t admit you knowingly did it.
