Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Good people can't last long here

Simply put, Sam’s is not an atmosphere where someone who has no experience with backstabbing, brown nosing, manipulating and the like can endure for a long time.

I was shocked by the kind of people I met here (there are always exceptions) and I was looking for a new job as soon as possible.

These things are everywhere, I am aware of that, but at Sam's it is different because hard workers who come here just to work, not to play games, are not protected at all.

club level management are just as big a problem as home office.... club managers treat people like dog p–o every day... they do every thing they can to keep you from having any say in how you use your pto , they promote faves , the only coach non faves , and the list goes on...some managers may not be as bad as others but they ALL do this stuff.

@1lpt+1avJ4Dmn, "Home Office, wake up. Take control of what is going on."

Home office being in control of everything is the main problem with this company. These @$$clowns couldn't run a club if they had to. I doubt any of them would even be able to zone an end cap or freezer/cooler. Yet they tell you how to staff your club & who should work what shifts
Management isn't allowed to manage their club, leads aren't allowed to run their departments, & clubs aren't allowed to feature items that best suit the buying tendencies of their communities.
Your club level management isn't the culprit in low morale & work conditions. It's the fat cats in Bentonville that are trying as hard as possible to make your workday difficult & chaotic.

Agreed. The place has gone so far down the rabbit ho–e, I doubt if we will ever be able to climb out. Vicious back stabbing. Weaponized gossip. Omnipresent surveillance in order to fire associates for any transgression. It's a quagmire of petty bickering , fighting, and insensitive managers. Fun stuff.

I have only been with the company for 12 years. I have seen such a change in the treatment of associates, mostly by the inept leads. Management is never around and seems as if the leads are the new mini managers. It is sad to go to work every day and not feel appreciated for what you do. I see this all the time. Associates are not recognized for their hard work. It is the associates who are doing all the heavy lifting while management sits around waiting for their bonus.

The one thing that I think is tragic is when Leads make associates feel as if they are not important. I will not allow them to bully me. I know I work hard and I show up everyday and do more than what is expected of me. We re losing good people everyday.

Home Office, wake up. Take control of what is going on.

Very well said and oh so true! I've worked there for 30 years and the first half was great! The last 15 are pure he–l and I kept hoping it would change. I am also done with them very soon. When Sam Walton heirs took over, it went down the p–t! Might not be as much their fault as it is the managers and team leads they have...but they never check on them. They are racist...only fair to their kind and they are down right rude and nasty to others. There is a stigma of being associated with Walmart that exists and many shoppers prefer Costco. Good luck to you....and know there are better places!
