Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Attrition

Regarding my previous post...

I told my supervisor she is the worst manager I have ever had and an even worse excuse for a human being. And I'm still here. No need to hide.

More context: I got away with saying that because if she went to HR to get me fired, she'd have to contend with the reality that the HR violations she made would be examined. Now our 1:1s are every two weeks instead of one and she cancels all the time – which is a blessing.

This is not about Wells as a whole. This is one particular tech manager who keeps losing direct reports due to attrition and fir some reason her management looks the other way as we lose SME....

It appears that OP is no better than his supervisor. If you have proof of wrongdoing, then report it. I'm sure that government love to hear from you.

Hank is still among us. There is so much more to the madness that I could try to describe, but every tale I tell will be second–guessed. And I don't think that's a bad thing. But I was the kind of guy who didn't think this kind of thing really happens. In my case, I had several peers who experienced the exact same thing. I was a victim, but I'm not gonna play or act like a victim. I'm an interview away from escaping the Stagecoach dumpster file...

Loads of attrition? During this period of cost reduction? She won't get fired for reducing headcount with no severance, she'll get a medal!

@OP Interesting that you are celebrating this, and assuming you "got away with" something. Not sure when this happened, but you have no idea what your boss is saying/doing about you behind the scenes. It's a nice surprise to most of us when our boss occasionally cancels our 1:1 due to conflict, but it's not a good thing when your boss avoids meeting with you all together.

I'm sure it felt good to tell your boss off... but even if you have lots of documentation about his/her supposed "violations", good luck getting HR to take your side. If you were paying attention you'd know HR is not your friend.

So Now I keep my mouth shut but I won't work for them like I did last year what for. It ashame they Beat you down so not worth taking time of evenings and weekends away from your family.

I am not above saying things managers don’t want to hear, but what was the point of this? Does it change your workload? Does it improve the manager’s performance? Is the attrition going to get better? If you want to make enemies by speaking truth to power, fine, but you want to at least have an endgame.

I'm guessing the OP and their manager are a match made in heaven and deserve each other.

You are assuming incorrectly that attrition is used in performance reviews with managers. No such tracking exists. In fact, I doubt any manager would even be asked about employee turnover no matter how high it gets.

You got away with it for now ... but when cutbacks happen you’ll go to the front of the line. But you knew that.
