Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Is Sam’s the most stressful place you’ve worked?

I changed a few jobs before I came to Sam’s and this is definitely the most stressful place I’ve worked so far. Previous jobs were also in the retail sector, so it is not a matter of the sector but of the company. I am so overwhelmed with work that I can't even get enough rest until the next working day.

It is a toxic $h1th0le. Been with the company a long time and this is the worst it has been. You have no value, pride or worth as an associate because we are all just fumbling through the next change they decide to throw at us. It's a constant stream of company self sabotage for profit. As long as memberships sell and profit is made that's all that they care about. They will take us behind the shed and blow us away like old yeller and replace us without a second thought.

Stressful, yes. But I'm staying. I can deal with the stress. But not having a mat to stand on, I can't deal with that. My legs are being destroyed.

So when, a union forces a vote, like they did for that one Amazon facility, I'm voting yes. DO YOU HEAR THAT HOME OFFICE? Get us some Gd Dmned mats or else.

I work at Walmart been there almost 10 years. It is stressful and the past week was the last straw. They started doing team schedules and if you do not take the schedule they offer you even thought it is outside your availability you are not guaranteed any hours. Funny because they are so short staffed it’s ridiculous. Two cashiers a day, lines back up, no one cares. It’s just a bullying mechanism to push you out the door. They treat employees awful. So newest schedule I got 21 hrs and I’m ft. I’m looking for another job and when I find one they don’t even deserve a 2 week notice.

It started when the company only wanted to push credits and upgrades.

Greed will do that to a company, what happened to respect for the individual. 6 foot rule I don’t think the market manager in our club has been taught this. She is disrespectful and never has a nice word . Has no idea about a 6’ foot rule. All she thinks about is intimidating the Gm and assistant Mgrs in the building. Never do you get a kind word.

Yes, it's terrible! Wasn't 30 years ago, but Sam Walton heirs, newer rendition of management and their buddies turned Sam's and Walmarts into c**p!
