I know a few people who were laid off in the past several months with no notice whatsoever. They are still pi—dat how it was done and why they weren't given any advance notice. I actually envy them. The last time when we knew ahead there would be layoffs but we didn't know who'll be affected, I was a nervous wreck for weeks. I couldn't wait for the layoff to take place even if it meant I'd be out. I know many wouldn't agree, but I'd welcome a no-notice layoff over the alternative any time.

so glad I left on my own and I don't have to deal with layoffs anymore. I haven't heard the word layoff since i left T and it has been awesome.
I still have PTSD and look over my shoulder every now and then but that is getting less everyday. t is such a cesspool I don't know why they run the place like they do but it is horrible and stock price reflects the environment. I can't believe the back stabbing that I was used to living with day in and day out. Haven't seen it since i left and it has been awesome.
Want advanced notice so you can do some harm to the company before you leave? Yikes.
The only advantage of being warned of upcoming layoffs is that it's quite effective at lighting a fire to get one actively updating their resume and searching for a new job. If nothing else, being reminded of constant layoffs and that T doesn't value or respect any of its employees serves as very good motivation to get the fork out of that dysfunctional pit.
This has been going on for quite a while. 2 weeks from the time the employee is notified until the off-payroll date (spoken with a smile straight from McElf's own mouth). Also, they are done quietly, with no public announcement, so if affected employees do not tell anyone, then they just quietly disappear.
I was appalled when I first learned of this practice, but the more I thought about it, I like it better than the old way. Don't drag it out for weeks; just do it and get it over with so that we can all move on with our iives. In my own mind, I already have my 60 days notice, because I know that it could happen at any moment. I am ready.

I have gone through both types and I learned a valuable lessons.
- Work day by day.
- Pay all the bills first and then save, save, save! Don't incur more debt
- Don't let it bother you, you can't control when or how it happens!
