Don't believe what you read here. See it with your own eyes. All of this info is readily available on HR One Stop. Look for "Retiree Discounts" and "Retirement Guides". Different discounts may apply to management and bargained.

* Both of these documents have been updated recently (Feb and Mar 2021). *

I just looked for myself, and these are the current management retiree discounts:

  • Wireless voice, text, and data plans 30% discount
  • DirecTV basic 20% discount, NFL Sunday ticket no cost, premium channels no discount
  • Internet and fiber, any speed up to 1G $29.99 + 5.00 equipment fee.
  • POTS line discounts vary by region. Look for a document "Wirelne and DSL Discounts." It is hard to find in HR One Stop, but it is linked from with the "Retiree Discounts" document.

In spite of the negative comments being constantly posted in this forum, I think the internet discount is a good deal (compared to Comcast), and I will continue with AT&T when I retire this year. I am not so sure about the wireless, though.

It's cheaper to go with Tmobile for cellular & YouTubeTV (or even better, Youtube TV through Tmob). Internet service is trickier, look for a local provider without caps (not easy to find, I know).

T is overpriced even with the employee discounts.

The AT&T retiree bronze vision plan is also in the same worthless category as your future TV & wireless plan discounts. You get a coupon for $25 off select vision care providers so you can probably find something cheaper in any penny saver flier you might get in the mail.

As others noted, when you retire, if you keep AT&T wireless or TV, you'll pay more than what you can get from a competitor. Let's hope you don't have a contract now or you'll be stuck with penalties as well if you try to break it.

20% discount on Directv, on top three packages. Your cost will increase 10X. Wireless is 30% off monthly plan and 40% off accessories purchased in company store. For TV you will be better off with streaming product.
