Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How long has it been?

It’s been close to 9 months since I’ve seen appropriate staffing at my club. We’ve been understaffed for long enough that it’s starting to feel as if the added workload from being shorthanded is the new norm. And considering that all of us are keeping our mouths shut, I’m betting this will become the new norm. No wonder things are not changing for the better when nobody (including me) wants to rock the boat.

No one wants to work any more. When the government just keeps giving money away. why would people want to work for money? My manager tries to hire but no applications.

Ah yes. The usual? So understaffed that the front end leads don’t know what to do with all the pressure from management that wants more plus, more credit, for you do do one on ones, evaluations, coaching and etc. All with 1 person in each area of the front and expect that to be okay. Who needs a layoff? People are laying themselves off with this scheduling.

Understaffed for the last 12 years in Las Vegas. That and we can't find workers who are dr-g free.

My club is so short of stuffed, everyone is doing everything. The GM is getting big fat bonus... that’s all it is, but the favorites are just walking around the store, is time to move on people and stop complaining...

Welcome to the new world of retail. Part time, open availability, no benefits, no full time, and doing the work of more than one person. There are better alternatives.
