Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

TMobile March 20th 2011 Share Price $30

April 4th 2021 Share Price $128 with a market cap of $158B.
ATT during same Time Frame Share Price has gone from $29 to $30 with a market cap of $217B. Maybe during that time frame a shareholder picked up $13 to $15 in after tax dividends.
Perfect example of Long Term Vision and Execution versus that of managing to hit quarterly targets and Willy Nilly Debt Fueled Acquisitions.
Internal Powerpoints massage that message into an ATT success story.

"senior management is too busy giving statements on how we the people should run our elections to worry about the business."

Yeah. isn't that something? They can't successfully run a company that's too big to fail, but they have no problem telling you what you should think about things that are none of their business.

Only a tiny fraction of AT&T's revenue is retail wireless, and it's long ceased to be a growth area. AT&T doesn't care about it anymore except to maintain the numbers, and that needs a lot less people. Corporate is more than happy to let indirects do the sales at Costco, Kiosks, Target, and Best Buy, as well as online.

T should easily be $50/share once the layoff cycle is completed and the company is down to 150k employees...perhaps by 2025, but it’s still rated as a BUY as of this past week...go figure...?

Wow, some people still can't get over the failed T-Mobile merger. Just keep holding on to that bitterness.

And the $5B that Ratty gave TMOB for his failed merger didn't hurt either!

Thanks Ratty!

T-Mobile is growing and T isn't. T-Mobile has been led by 2 creative XEOs, John Legere and Mike Sievert, both a ex-employess of companies making up today's AT&T. The good talent continues to leave T and we keep the losers like Stankey, Stephenson, Stephens, McElfresh, Lee, Chow.....
