Also, are we still getting service awards for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25,.... years service? I heard rumors it was going away but don't recall an official message. I don't want to ask the boss and tip him off to the fact I am thinking of retiring

Six months for retirement celebration or they won’t pay as per HR. HR covid policy said no group gathering with coworkers still employed at AT&T as of December 2020. May have changed, contact your last supervisor for details. It’s his job to pay on company card.
PLEASE - Look at HR One Stop. Your answers are there. Policies have been updated recently, but no, these programs have not been cancelled.
I thought I read that they did away with milestone anniversary gifts this year right? No clue about retirement gift of $500.00.
If you search HRONESTOP the policy appears to have been updated March 2021, and it seems like you’re entitled until you get to the chart “who’s eligible” and then it depends. If you’re with Alascom for example, Yes, you get it. For regular legacy T it’s hard to tell, seems the names have been changed to keep everyone in the dark.

Another fine example of HR not performing their job. Employees confused about entitlements, this is a basic benefit that all eligible employees should know about. After all, there aren't that many benefits left for employees to know about. It's obvious from this thread that employees don't understand their basic entitlements, a real shame!

I retired 12/31/20. I got the retirement gift, but no word whatsoever about the $500 celebration money.
An employee who reports to me is retiring in July. He is non management. I called the admin to our AVP today who confirmed he is eligible for a retirement event ($500.00). I asked if management was still eligible as well as was told yes. Look on HR one stop and search retirement celebration or event. I have the document and it gives all of the details. The limit, when it can be held, etc.
I got a Waterford Crystal Lamp for retirement gift and spent the entire $500 for a great dinner with myself and three friends. I actually went over and I covered that.
Got my $500 dinner and a $500 purse! Loving iit, if they haven't stopped this benefit yet, it won't be around much longer.

No big loss anyway! The anniversary gifts are an awful lot of goofy looking ATT jewelry which I would never wear, power tools which are inexpensive these days and the rest junk you couldn’t give me for free. Whoever decides which anniversary gifts to put in the catalog is clueless! It took me a month to finally decide which worthless gift to select, now I’m trying to sell it cuz I’ll never use it!

I just ordered my anniversary gift. Plus I was told I can spend $xxx.xx on a celebration dinner but I need to take it before November. I hasn't gone away yet.

I was set to celebrate my 30 yr anniversary this weekend without any problems. (I changed the date to later this month.) My boss was ready to pay the restaurant when I made the phone call. It's got to be a local thing or something.

Correct. One of my team members retired last year (well, he was surplussed, but he was retirement eligible, so he retired). I was planning to arrange his celebration and put it on my Amex. But, it turns out that benefit was rather silently removed along with anniversary gifts. The company figured, we hate people who have established a career here, so why celebrate their longevity?

Speaking of tipping your hand, there's a new message on the Fidelity site (modeling your pension) that says to start early and recommends 90-180 days to receive your lump sum. Can anyone share their experience when requesting a lump sum roll-over to an IRA?
