Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

6 am start

This is the first week of fresh starting at 6 am......been behind ALL week. With still having covid hours there’s no way possible to be ready. What a bad choice the company made 😣

Maybe the time span is the same. However post covid. A lot more shop early and club pick up starts at 4 am and they are looking for fresh product to service members orders with and now have to wait an extra hour before it’s ready. All bakeries. Not just Sams club start at the a$$ crack of dawn. 6 am....too late

@2nwk+1aaOYUvk, there are more people coming in as soon as the clubs open, more to get filled before opening due to increases in sales, heavier fresh deliveries to get put up in 2 hours (on tuesday only 1 hour), & also those fresh trucks often run late.
Those things have made a big difference between now & pre covid.

Pre-covid: fresh came in at 5 and club opened at 7

Nowfresh comes in at 6 and club opens at 8

How are you behind? It’s the same amount of time. That doesn’t make any sense.

Our fresh people still spend the first 20 minutes bs ing with each other, so it must not be too bad for them. I know this because I run their trucks into the coolers while they goof off.

@rzj+1aaOYUvk, thinking & the decision makers at home office should never be mentioned in the same sentence. they don't think.
billy joe pulls an idea out of mid air & they go with it. no thought at all. they live in a fantasy world where they believe everything they institute is a great plan. just further proof that most of them have never experienced day to day operations in a club.

I can’t believe the mo--ns in Arkansas thought making this switch a week before a busy holiday weekend was a good idea.

Well senior/hero hours are now over except Tuesdays. So at least there is only 1 day a week we have to worry about it now. We never had that many people, it should have always been 1 day. We could get like 3 seniors. Not worth opening our doors and shutting down all production to let them in. Let them do CPU. The concierge stopped real quick because there wasn't enough people. That should have been a clue as to how many people actually came at all. At least to our club. I am sure some clubs may have been busy. I don't know. But not 3 days out of the week. We were struggling here on Tuesday with opening at 7, yet our whole front end wasn't scheduled until 7 or 730 or later. So everyone is clocking in when the doors are supposed to be opening. No tills out etc etc.

Cafe same way. We can't get anything finished and on shelf in time. Night associate can't seem to get anything clean because members insist on standing in line at seven pm and ordering pizzas to go. Even with the lights are turned off.

Close to open that way all the fresh bread is one day old. The meat is already turning brown and the produce has some extra fruit flies from being out of the cooler longer. You got to love the home office mo--ns and their "Can't Understand Normal Thinking Selves"

The rotisserie chicken night guy loves it! Dayshift skewers all the chicken for him and he just stands around talking to everyone and not doing a thing. Oh wait, that's what he always does! Doesn't clean ovens at night, doesn't empty grease, and now the HMS girl cleans up for him.

Just do your best and enjoy the extra hour of sleep. If home office wants clubs to look like a dumpster fire let it.
