Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Anyone official here? Like a Regional Manager?

I know what my store has been doing but I keep hearing about "restructuring" and I think that's a lot different from what's happening here.

Can anyone who is really connected to the corporate office explain what is happening?

Also how long before we close and lock the stores for good?

The good news is I just got a 2 dollar raise.

The bad news is I’m getting laid off next week.

Why are they making everyone do the Store Manager's job? I can't wait for a part-time cashier to embezzle a sh*tload of money!

I think this "restructuring BS is hysterical.
hahahaha B&N, going down in flames

Not BS promotions now come with 2 dollar raises. We all had orientations explaining the details.

And several fired booksellers were promised they were safe.
Keep drinking the kool aid.

They just laid out plans for new job titles and pay structure. 2 percent raises a year instead of 25 cents. Most bookseller positions and no more department managers.
