Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Leaving for remote work

I've now been approached by two companies that offer remote work. Is anyone else leaving or looking to leave for a more flexible company? Hoping Honeywell will change their policy but ready to leave if not.

Honeywell's Leadership decisions and policies are all focused to getting older more expensive workers to leave. Cut cost. Nothing else matters.

@1ogi+1aX2i72g Actually they won't be able to cut office space unless the get rid of assigned desk space.

Frankly I'm surprised Honeywell hasn't jumped on the opportunity to embrace WFH and slash office space rental the same way they have slashed compensation

The below is so true. Someone who gets paid the same to work remotely vs having to be based in the office is probably going to choose remote. Honeywell is going to lose employees to companies who allow remote. They are either going to have to offer more money to attract the same level of talent or otherwise settle for the workers have no other option but Honeywell

"Thankfully I've already found my 100% remote position. Companies that demand full-time "rears in seats" for positions which don't require it will end up having to pay a premium for that."

Been thinking the same thing. I have zero need/benefits from being co-located with my team and Honeywell hasn't been able to articulate a great business case for their one-size-fits-all 'rears in seats' policy

I'm guessing Raytheon's permanent hybrid policy is meant to help attract/retain top talent. A little doubtful that today's Honeywell has the clout to set standards for the industry.

Raytheon (including the UTC Aerospace/Collins Aerospace part of Raytheon) just announced permanent hybrid work. I'm interviewing with them next week. Excited to work remotely and be able to move closer to family so I can take care of them as they get old.

Still looking but will take first comparable offer.
Honeywell leaders are meeting regularly and striking executive deals around keeping consistent policies in the same industry. You will need to change industies.

Yes. There's a filter on LinkedIn now for remote jobs. Check it out and good luck.
