Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

All you need to know

Over the past five years through Tuesday, AT&T has generated total shareholder returns, a measure of share-price changes and dividend income, of 3%, compared with more than 232% for T-Mobile, 42% for Verizon and 122% for the S&P 500, according to FactSet.

At the same time the company has surplussed thousands of employees. So the C-suite and the BOD has been bad for employees and shareholders. Why are they still here?!

Why not admit to his mistakes, man up! He is a total failure as CEO, his reputation is ruined. Sure he is rich, and will be able to pass wealth down to his great grandkids, but at what price? He best stay at T as long as he can, after that he is washed up. He has ruined countless lives with his reckless behavior, I hope he sleeps well at night.

" I love how "Stanky leg" tried to pitch these deals as "correcting errors made by my predecessor"

Yup, that's the new spin for sure. I'm watching Fox Business and they just cited "sources" sating that Stankey claims he was just trying to be loyal to Stephenson, who was empire building. You can't make this stuff up. Or, wait a minute; I guess you CAN make this stuff up.

I love how "Stanky leg" tried to pitch these deals as "correcting errors made by my predecessor" when he was right there with Randi pushing for DirecTV and Warner, at the same time as every watercooler conversation between employees who aren't even well-versed in finance said "This is stupid". Now, $90B in lost shareholder value later, did Johni and Randi even get chastised? Nope, they got their $20+ salary/bonus, and employees got layoffs. Amazing how such a small group of id--ts can ruin a once great company.

"Why are they still here?!"

Because arrogant bullies are highly persuasive in the world of business and politics.
