Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

New AT&T

AT&T will become the new GE. The stock price will fall to the low 20’s to high teens. Arrogant CEO’s with a weak board of Directors destroyed this company. AT&T wasted three years neglecting its core business. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s wireless business spun of to get it out this quagmire.

T will sell mobility to focus on copper landlines to people over age 60. They will want 2nd lines for fax machines and dialup internet! The 60+ age group will not be asked to signup for paperless billing and autopay because they reliably mail their checks every month like clock work for the fine folks at the mailing center to process!

The home phone business is the future of communication. Mobility is just a distraction.

T is in desperation mode, don't rule anything out. Sale of T Mobility is very likely.

I’m sure behind the scenes investment bankers are running scenarios on the breakup value of AT&T. I predict that companies will let AT&T do the heavy lifting of building out 5G. Once it’s 5G is built out look for competitors to pounce on acquiring the wireless network. The M&A workgroup needs to be dissolved. AT&T is currently a “Train Wreck” and doesn’t need any distractions.

Media group is gone along with a 50% cut in dividend and a squandering of its tax cut windfall.

Any work group that is not essential to the core business needs to be cut ASAP. I would start immediately with the overhead departments of finance, legal, advertising, HR and marketing.

The writing was in the wall when Elliot Investments pulled out of ATT ....they knew this was a disaster.
As an outside tech we could see that there progressive thinking was backwards terrible management strategies and a “Hurry up and be Safe” motto. It’s is very dysfunctional and stressful.

I could see Verizon buying T's mobility division, putting it on top over TMOB. This would allow T to focus on POTS and broadband.
