Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The silver lining of the TW sale

I know this is a bit of a selfish view, but once TW is officially merged with Discovery it means I can actually consider subscribing to it again.

After I got the axe in '20 I vowed to not voluntarily give a single penny to T. With both DTV and TW leaving I can reconsider them.

Media is financial intense business, takes millions to produce the content, marketing/distribution, and returns. In the covid era, the box office isn't generating revenues where it used to be. Kilar and the genius are pulling popular content back to make them Max exclusive and majority isn't really paying for Max. With significant revenue drop and T sunk in debt, the media side is starving for investment. Will TW produce better content with Discovery, who knows. At least TW will be free from experts like Stankey and Kilar, good luck at brining back paid viewers.

I feel like none of you realize T maintains 70% equity but sure. If that logic works for you.

T will still own majority of both companies you dolt. So feel free to continue your pity party. Any other feelings you want to share?

I ditched DirectTv for same reason. It was fine until T ran it under! The screen saver of the floating Death Star was more than I could stomach!
