Member Specialsts

Why is everyone selling credit all day yet the member Specialist is not doing this? If I wanted to be on the iPad all day selling credit I would have applied for that job. I am not making the money Member Specialsts make.

I think some of you are missing the point..At our club the cashier is doing the member specialist job and the member specialist is a cashier. If anyone really thinks a$1.00 difference you must be making a lot more. To some it is the difference between paying a bill and nit paying a bill.

Since when do team leads need assistants? That was a humorous statement! All the front end id**t does is hide, watch and get ready to pounce on others. 🤣

I disagree with some of the comments here. In our club the Member Specialists are not utilized per the job description. And only one is consistent with getting numbers. And why is that? Because we have mangers with different views. We had a n MIT in our club who did a fabulous job running the front end. This person held people accountable. The cashiers did not like it and used the open door all the time. And with the new Membership Rep position, isn't one of the job duties to bring in new members? Now this person will train the front end people properly, something that has not been done in the past and hold them accountable. And what will happen? This person will be attacked and complained about on a daily basis. We have actually had cashiers call in who never were told about using Protected PTO. I mean really folks, who is to blame here?

First of all, MS only make $16 hr unless they have job credits. So let's not get crazy with their pay. It's $1 more than cashier's. And assuming it is staffed, MS are expected to be assistants to the TL. As well as plus, credit and their sco/exit duties. Everyone is required to obtain plus and credit. This existed before the MS position was created and before cashier's got a raise. So why are you being belligerent and ignorant about it??? Nothing has changed. They just created a new position. For more productivity and shrink focus.
That aside, anyone internal or external can apply. But if you dont like your job, or the job expectations, transfer or quit. Bye Felicia.

As long as you continue to work for Sam's Club you are expected to be a representative of the company which includes selling Plus and Credit. You really did not think the raise to $15 per hour was out of the goodness of the Board of Directors hearts, did you? Now that Marketing is gone, reduction in management, etc. someone has to pick up the selling to grow membership numbers, credit numbers; now this falls to the associates, with emphasis on the Frontend. You have two choices, do your job to the best of your ability (don't slack here - you can be terminated for job performance) or quit.

Does anyone even know what the duties of the Member Specialists are? It is ridiculous, they pay these lazy women to do nothing with the exception of one. It seems their role changes at the whim of the management, even their so called block schedules. We have three of them working the same hours 7:30am to 4:00 pm. Now tell me, does that make sense? They are not out selling credits, or on the self checkout and the door. Here's another issue, there is a person who would make a fabulous Member Specialist but has been told you have to be on the front end to qualify to apply?
