Out of those who have been out of Cenovus for a few months now, how many do you know who are still looking for work? I'm somewhat encouraged by the fact that all the ones I know already have new jobs. Every one of them. I'm hoping this is the case for most people, and not an exception.

Some I know have, the majority have not . Its a completely different game this time around as opposed to others.
The wages are all down and the market is flooded.
I only know of one person who was laid off in my circle that does not yet have a job, everyone else went to oil and gas companies as well. There are tons of jobs out there but that doesn't fit the whiner message of this group of losers who post here.
Anecdotally a lot of the people I know have not yet found work, and those that have is primarily short term contract work. Anything that I have applied for online has been complete radio silence, I am fortunate to have some connections and was able to land new employment relatively quickly through those.
This employment information is an outright lie. Very few if any companies are hiring.
I got a surprisingly generous package and took a month off to get my head straight. I am now consulting. Very, very busy. I could be working 16 hours a day if I wanted to be. And I have not done any business development.
Best part is that I am getting paid handsomely for the expertise I spent 25 years building and don't have to suffer Cenovus politics.
I might go back to a regular job in a few years, but so far getting laid off has been rewarding in all ways.
I was let go in January and before the layoffs I applied with few companies so everything worked well for me. January got a package, February on EI and March started a new job. New company is paying more, better culture and afterwards, my thoughts are that I should have left Husky way before.
Don't be so sure your not next Carma will find you Cheers!! Another 700 cuts coming plus assets being sold, plus pay cuts
All the layoffs aren’t done yet so don’t be so smug, you may be impacted just as 1400 or so we’re already with another 700 coming. It’s all about carmaker.
I survived all the layoffs, I just come here for the drama.
I think its a mix - I have been told by a recruiter that there is starting to be more activity and opportunity in the marketplace. (I do have a new job and turned down 2 others at the offer stage. I also have been contacted with more opportunities within the marketplace within last two weeks which supports recruiter's observation.) I do note that salaries are down - I took a significant pay cut to be back at work but the offer was within the range of other available opportunities and had other positives. I wish everyone that is looking good luck and I am sending good vibes to everyone who is looking and has not landed something yet.
20 Years with Husky = 20 Months Severance. So not even looking.
Ask me again next year !! (Maybe)
May be the exception.
Many I know are still looking.
