Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Pretending I don't care...

The situation in my store is getting worse. It has become very clear who will be the target in the next round of layouts, those who work the most and who are in the worst position.

I'm just pretending I don't care, but I'm actually very worried. I'm worried because if I could find a new job - I would have already found it by now.

On the other hand, there is nothing I can do to keep a job that I really need and without which it will be very difficult for me if I lose it.

There’s plenty of Essential jobs out there. Food service, delivery, grocery stores. There’s lots of jobs out there. Working for Barnes, I wouldn’t look down my nose at other jobs.

So if they lay you off you collect, it's not the worse thing. You should have been looking for a DECENT Job years ago though. You knew things were only going to get worse after the last layoff.
I heard our store can't even make payroll, Not a good sign of the future.
I'm lucky, I just have this job for extra cash.

But it's never too late to look for something better so get out there... NOW!
