Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

ATT is one big disappointment

Dealing with disappointments? I can't get over it. All their business moves are a disappointment.
Working here and witnessing how the company has been degraded makes me sick. It's just that it's no longer the same company I applied for. I would never have thought before that the situation in the company would be like it is today.

Where were you when the company was making these ‘disappointing business moves’? I am certain you know more than the leadership, heck the share and stakeholders....You shoulda told them those were bad moves; you coulda said something. Where were you, genius?

The comment about wireless adds and the growth of HBO.

Here is what concerns me

  • MAX is being given away. No details about th number of paying vs non-paying customers
  • wireless adds are at the expense of heavily subsidized devices. The same is likely for churn, heavily subsidized devices also offered to existing customers enticing them to stay

You should consider both of the above as adds resulting from promotions. I remember very clearly that Stankey and Randall justifying the loss of video customers by saying they were customers on promotion and were not valuable. Personally I never understood that comment. If the customer is profitable by a single $1.00 - a $1 is a $1 and with a large customer base it all adds up. And if you and your service is as good as you say it is aren’t these customers worth it for the good things they will say about you - free advertising.

2 years (or will it be 30 mos for wireless) from now will we see a large number of customers leave because their promo is over and drop Max at the same time?

Yes, by comparison over the years it used to be the most sought after company in America! Today, it's mediocre at best because most of today's youth is flocking to big tech where it's actually a fun work environment with lots of perks!

Been patiently waiting for a severance package, but even if it’s later rather than sooner, I’ll still benefit! I just hope it is offered, otherwise, my time runs out!

You must have missed the last couple quarterly earnings reports. Wireless adds are up significantly (beating Verizon handily), Fiber adds are steady and HBO has gone from losing customers to adding (lots) of customers. What the company is doing in priority areas IS working. The problem is that it is saddled with terrible investments in video (DTV), Mexico and La--n America (Vrio) with long term issues. I’m not an apologist for our officers - many acquisitions made since Big Ed left have been questionable. But your comment is simply not accurate.

Leave the company if you are so upset.

Absolute worst company I’ve ever been exposed to! Att took over our company and has destroyed everything it’s touched.
Thousands of ruined lives, terrible moral, character assassinations, disgusting abuse of power, I could go in and on. Thanks for the sh*t stock price too!

Right on OP! Anyone who honestly believes otherwise has their head buried in the sand. T was an absolute crown jewel among all corporations wordwide. It's iconic status was earned and well deserved, leadership ran a tight ship and managed debt. It will be interesting to see where T is 10 years out. Employees used to be proud and thankful to work for T, not so much now.
