I absolutely don’t trust our management. I often feel that I am working for my enemy who will betray me at some point, will not give me the right information in time or will give me the wrong information. That may be too harsh, but it’s my own personal feeling.
A lot of times I heard something from them that made me lose faith in them later. Every townhall is an even bigger disappointment than the previous one.

Now that no one wears a tie and Jeff wears Vans or Converse or whatever, it shows how in touch people over 50 are! That whole town hall was a 1990s style event and it doesn't fly in the post-everything world now- it's clearly a puppet-style show for a bygone era. Too many easy questions, and no followup to the harder ones.
Now we see they were sitting on the secret of spinning out TW. So it's either they can't tells us what is about to happen, or they won't, or they just don't know. I think Stankey looks unwell, and Jeff is afraid of him. It's a very "fall of the Roman empire" kinda vibe.
Agree! Save money, #stoptownhalls! In addition to the money spent on media productions, think of the cost to have thousands of employees stop working so they can dial in, and watch execs pat themselves in the back and sell us how great our future is if we all work harder. Thousands of hours of lost productivity.
Orchestrated theater! People don’t watch CNN for a reason and, the same reason employees login to mute the broadcast. America has these clown on mute! Raise corporate taxes, slap regulation on them and then watch them cry.

RE: It sounds like what's happening in a certain political party. Too true! Using an antiquated dinosaur because of their vast experience in the industry as the "leader" while the innovative competition smashes all performance expectations. Meanwhile, the dinosaur (they call him "The Corpse" in Australia) continues to stay focused on internal issues without noticing how badly we're doing in the market.

Meanwhile the people who actually do usefull work have their budgets slashed. Most people I work with want to see AT&T suceed. Hey Stankey, nevermind,. You brought Randell back for more damage.

I’d like to know how much is paid to our internal media productions team each year for these meetings and why we are not using free things like webex or email.
Then, results are misrepresented as great while teams are pressured to meet numbers and chase a moving target. The content itself does not serve any purpose other than ego st-----g and does not give any meaningful takeaways.
Plus, the over eager kool-aid drinking moderators never ask the hard questions. Here’s one I’d love to see answered: “A very conservative estimate would figure your salary is 10x higher than the average person in your organization. Why do you think that is? Is your job 10x harder or 10x more stressful? Why is the company spouting equality and closing the divide message externally when we don’t do the same internally?”

You are one of those workers that hate the company and it doesn't matter what the company does or says, it's just another thing for you to complain about. Hopefully you aren't bringing down too many people around you.

The reason you feel that way is because (1.) it is true (2.) it's difficult to face.
Just keep in mind that these incredibly insulting and worthless 'town hall' meetings aren't ever for the employees. It's just a huge ego stroke for senior management who get to stand up in front of an audience, feel a little like a celebrity, have their rectums licked by a wide group of sycophants, and spout off their ignorance and lies.
Nothing they say at these things has even the slightest value. They will lie or misrepresent the truth about how the company is doing, engage in a collective circle-jerk to promote yet another hair-brained scheme to turn the corner which will inevitably fail, then tell you about how there will be cuts to: pay, benefits, staff, resources all the while slapping themselves on the back for being such awesome 'leaders'.
These things are like cult meetings. They try to indoctrinate the gullible, desperate, and stupid into some T-worshipping mob who will pledge unquestioning loyalty to the top.
Sounds kind of like what's happening in a certain political party right now ... with just as much chance of success
If it's mandatory, attend.
If it's not, don't.
If you have a Boss that feels or acts like it's important for you to attend, attend and feign interest.
None of it matters. Bloviators who love to hear themselves talk. Sycophants that will cheer their bosses up on Quantum, and get other lemmings to "like" it. All in the hopes someone cares or is watching and will give you some extra points. Pathetic.
