Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

This is messed up

We lost one person on our team last week. He was fired. I won't go into whether it was justified or not; he is gone and that's it. We just learned today (well, more like yesterday) that he won't be replaced anytime soon and until that changes, we'll have to cover his work. We are overworked as it is and now they spring this on us. I'm so angry I can't think straight. F this company.

Well, on previous offer to leave our dept had 5 take the offer. Those of us left were called into
a meeting and in addition to my large territory, I was give 3 territories of those leaving, so I asked for
a percentage of their wages and was told NO. Shut up, you have their work in addition to mine.
I RETIRED IMMEDIATELY walked across the street to another telco and was hired and given a $30k
per year raise and a level up promotion.
Recommendation: Start looking elsewhere and leave them old management "hanging".

Your VP made the call not to backfill. You'll need to suck it up or in their words, show real leadership and be a team player, just so the VP can get a nice bonus and buy a vacation home.

He can sue if he has proof it was unjustified

Messed up that he was working for the company in the first place. Good riddance.
