I just heard that even some more profitable clubs will lay people off every once in a while to make sure to fatten the margin further. Can anybody confirm whether this is true or not? Does this mean no matter how well my club is doing I'm never safe from being randomly cut?

@iovz gm does get the payroll bonus. Rookie. LOL...
The GM does get a payroll bonus paid quarterly they get paid more to come in under budget.
No GM bonus doesn't get money left over from payroll. That's just a flat out lie lol.
I can promise you, you will not work long enough to retire from Sam's Club. Not anymore. Get laid off, fired, let go, your job eliminated, or store closed, but not retire.
It is going to be a tough year somebody has to pay for all of those raises
15 year associate lead, recently let go because marketing compliance watched cameras and we had downtime. didn't send people to zone.
pretty much a layoff
Do your job well and you won’t have to worry.
True. The harder you work, the more they want. If you can get more work done in the same amount of time they will keep adding on more. Home office sets the budget for each club based off sales. Same theory goes here too. In years past the gm bonus included any money saved on payroll. The more he/she can save on payroll the bigger the bonus. I don't know if that applies to current policy. It was this way for years.
