There are a lot of rumors about the layoffs in May, and I was employed here only a few months ago. Could it be the case that the target of these dismissals will be the people who are just recently employed? That's what I heard, and that would be really crazy.
Let’s face it, it’s not in my best interest to stay here for too long, but at the same time I wouldn't want to leave after spending not even six months here.

Nah, they won't target new hires specifically. There is a large cost and expense to hire and train new employees and they won't let that go to waste. Also new hires make quite a bit less than tenured and they can move newer hires up the ladder at less increases in salary than tenured employees. Some lower tenure employees may be thrown into the layoffs here and there but that is to cover their asses for age discrimination lawsuits.
I sure hope so.
