Serious question. I don't think att is headed for bankruptcy but clearly the company is in trouble and flat lining. It's market capitalization is already so very cheap that google , Apple , Amazon , and others can buy it wholly with cash. Not that they would. That's the other problem. No one would buy att. At least not in whole with all its debt. It would first have to sell off most of itself. The only real value is in wireless and that just decreased due to the company not being prepared enough for 5g. Fiber ? Too little too late. T-mobile will have won most households with their upcoming fixed broadband by then. Once again T is caught asleep at the wheel, letting t-mobile overtake it. T-mobile is now going after att business customers with fixed broadband. It will be the number one carrier in broadband in a few years time. Att . Leaders in incompetence.

Stinkbomb is too involved with HBOMAX to see that Verizon and TMobile are kicking AT&Ts behind in 5G. Fake 5G indicators on handsets are not fooling anyone.
The government would never allow T's wireless business to fail. If the did they'd be down to two providers, and it would be pretty hard to maintain the fiction that there's competition in the American wireless business (which there really ism't now even at three). And if you think there is, you might want to consider that wireless service costs in the US are among the highest in the world. Also, were T to fail with the amount of debt it's carrying, it would cause a significant disruption in the corporate debt market. In other words, financially speaking, T is "too big to fail." That's why the company can be run by fools. No matter how much they f— up, they can't fail in any meaningful way.
Incompetent leaders. Incompetent workers. Company is doomed.
The market would shift and customers would churn, but if you think T-Mobile could easily take away all AT&T markets then you're wrong.
In many markets or areas there are no magic bullets. Eventually they'll end up in the same situation, if not worse. Most likely they'll run out of money before they could even bring better services.
Jeff and Stankey say a lot of things but you can count on them failing to execute. Fiber is too little too late. They should have been deploying it the last decade but didn't want to invest in core infrastructure, choosing instead to throw 150 billion at time Warner and directv. It will take decades to deploy fiber , especially since they now have to closely watch spending for years to come. T-mobile will be able to offer fixed wireless broadband across the nation in just a year or two. Rewarded for incompetence not to mention k–ling the stock. It's incredible. Only in America can you get richly rewarded for running the company into the ground.
AT&T is banking on getting customers off radio on fiber at the edge faster/better then the other companies, creating less need for spectrum. Jeff’s said so in his last Q&A session.
To the poster who said "T has a lot of spectrum ". No they don't. That's the problem. Both Verizon and T-mobile have more spectrum for 5g. That's what matters. 5g. And t-mobile not only has the most but the most usable and practical bandwidths. Verizon is 2nd. Att is a distant 3rd in 5g spectrum after the auction and they just spent an additional 20 billion to get into third place. Unreal.
Even being third in this market is still profitable and sustainable.
I’m might be more concerned with only 3% (inflated number from FREE service)
In SVOD share! Att is banking on streaming to save them.

I wouldn't read too many much into 3rd place wireless, T has a lot of spectrum and really that's mostly what matters going forward, once you have spectrum you can carve it up into all sorts of packages.. not to mention T has a lot of revenue sources beyond just mobility.
Retired...got my pension and 401K. Just hoping they survive for medical benefits. Got a extra 80K severance. Life is good.
With AT&T more interested in Hollywood what do you expect?
