Team leads task list

Now as a team lead when you open you have to walk every department to look at specs, layouts, quality, and sanitation and when you close you have to walk each fresh department to make sure the close to open process is complete so what fresh managers doing besides sitting in the office.

Years ago management used to get paid decent when their was gap pay. Hardlines and meat manager used to make 70 to 80 thousand. Not anymore. They hire pretty much off the street at 20 to 25 per hour. So you get what you pay for

Previous comments correct. Underpaid management here. The list is insanely long and management can't be seen unless something isn't done or a line is long or whatever.. then suddenly they are there with their little coaching book and pen ready talking to you like c-ap. Like how could you not do 5 people worth of work while you have zero associates and too many members and me not even answering calls?? Why can't you get all my work done for me and yours and theirs?? Do you want me to coach you?

Oh.. my bad. Pfft. Pay me more and I might manage to cough up another couple of limbs and be able to juggle it all. Or let me know when you and this company decide to learn how to run it so we can remain fully staffed and not 20+ short in 1 department because no one wants to stay here and deal with it. Then maybe I can manage to get more done in 1 shift while still handling everything member related that is in front of me and that comes first.

Don't you know that is ALL management does???? We are told we are HOURLY management. But our list is huge. Wanna call me any kind of management and give me a list longer than yours while you sit.. pay me more.

Also a lead here, I do plannograms, unload trucks, and unlock the door so associates can leave. Due to being understaffed, there's no time to be a supervisor, only an overpaid floor associate. The Managers only notice when things don't get done, but don't care enough to do anything about it. So I could care less also.

It would be nice to have enough merchandisers to be able to lead. But until then I am a glorified key carrier, unloader, forklift driving stocker.

You probably will be the only team leading doing that the rest of them will be like whatever I'm short handed don't have time for that.

I'd love to stand back. Watch. And attack those I don't like. But I'm not sick like that.

My team lead never comes and checks on us or her other areas cause truthfully she’s happier just walking around looking busy. You see her everyday with the same cart stocking bottles of soda and that takes a good 1-2hours. She got handed a key and used it a lot to get in the back office and do nothing!!! No leading what so ever sorry but it’s true!! We are made to tell new associates what they are doing wrong and how to do this and that, then they think we are being bossy and it inflicts a not so good work atmosphere!! Our store needs help desperately!! Just being honest!!!

As a lead are you seriously complaining about actually being able to lead and not just serving as an overpaid stocker?
