Oracle doesn't have a problem laying off people. It has a problem laying off people openly.
This is a way for them to sweep the layoffs under rug. I would expect big layoffs this coming year. They are about out of money, at least they can't spend another $36B this year on stock buybacks. They are going to do something big this year, and this is the start of it.
