I don't understand the negative reaction here. Sometimes internal company information can be difficult to locate, and I know from personal experience some of the officially posted materials include "you may or may not be affected" caveats that require one (or usually more) long phone calls to get answered. The changes are downplayed, and the implications really are difficult to suss out.
This post is not what I would call "spamming filth". I get more of that from my ISP, promising $39 high speed access but charging me $100 ultimately. (Not AT&T, not available at my address).
The link goes to a financial advice firm. Many are looking for our business, and the better ones are posting information with specifics on service dates, operating companies, etc. that are not necessarily clear in official documentation (see above). When my time comes, I am contemplating signing on with one of these external parties just to have a second set of eyes looking at my severance, pension, and retirement benefits.
Are you serious? Because ATT makes every effort to confuse and downplay the negative changes they make, and never outline the implications.

Why do you think people that are directly impacted by changes need to go outside of the company for information on the changes that are affecting them?
Because if you don't so do, then they can't make any money.
