Stankey on Financial Fluency

Did anyone catch the latest video? One of the core leadership pillars he needs you to understand is FINANCIAL FLUENCY.

In other words, how losing $15 billion on an investment translates to raises and bonuses for the C-suite.

Y'all got that now? You can't make this stuff up.

I guess I don’t get financial fluency then. Somehow bad is good and good is never good enough. Did I get that right? I thought it was all about the Corp lingo.

and he just placed one of Donovan's mo–ns as CFO of Warner Media - you will be holding a DTV like fire sale in about 1 year for that $105B fiasco

What "sophisticated shareholders" hold an asset that performs worse than a bond fund over 10 years?

"We need our current leadership to quit behaving like our previous leadership."

Problem being, of course, our current leadership is our previous leadership.

It's Stankeys and Stephenson all the way down. Whoever inherits this mess is going to have to hack off everyone at the director level and above if they want to get rid of the cancer.

All of these emails are simply a response to the word on Wall Street that the company peons don’t know his “vision”, and that’s why AT&T is struggling. 😐 Frankly, I don’t care. Just stop collecting your millions while compressing the pay bands of your employees to pay them less over time while telling them to work harder to “win as one”, stop making failed financial decisions that cause insurmountable debt while promising a stable dividend, stop eliminating pension caveats and other benefits for long timers, taking away earned PTO benefits, and then trotting out that useless harpy Santone to tell us all how good we have it. It’s the push to get the folks making the most to retire or leave. Oh, and lest I forget, keep insisting on silencing any voice in opposition to your social justice farce. It’s so obvious. Stankey is another fat cat suit who could gaf about anyone that doesn’t kiss his ring.

This guy is deluded if he thinks any of the EEs want to hear from him on leadership. Seriously no one I work with wants to hear from Stinkey or values his leadership. I believe he is very close to being universally disliked by employees and all levels of this company.

I'm pretty sure we all speak Financial at a level above and beyond what our executive class, CEO and board-members do.

For example:

We all know the DirecTv acquisition was stupid and a waste of money.
We all know the botched T-Mobile deal was stupid and a waste of money.
We all know the Warner Media acquisition was stupid and a waste of money.
We all know that re-hiring the ex-CEO responsible for the aforementioned stupidity, IS EPIC LEVEL STUPID.

We don't need videos from our current leadership explaining things. We need our current leadership to quit behaving like our previous leadership and cease doing stupid things unless their true goal is to drive this company into bankruptcy.*

*Which is a tin-foil hat theory of mine. What better way to offload all those pensions, wipe the slate clean and start anew ? :|

Financial Fluency - paying dividends is a leading indicator that management has no strategic outlook for growth. Dividends are used as smoke and mirrors to appease institutional investors to held on to the stock and enrich executive pockets. :

Companies Choose Not to Pay Dividends:
"Quickly expanding companies typically will not make dividend payments because during pivotal growth stages, it's fiscally shrewder to re-invest the cashback into operations. But even well-established companies often reinvesting their earnings, in order to fund new initiatives, acquire other companies, or pay down debt. All of these activities tend to spike share price."

And T isn't one of these growth companies, with the exception that it likes acquire other companies at high prices and then write down asserts because they alienate all customers like their in-laws.

Stankey is a master of telling everyone how they're actually the ones responsible for his mistakes, or that they're just not smart enough to appreciate his genious big-brain financial moves.

This. He is a master of the gas light.

You do know he's priming everyone for another bug round of kicking people to the curb, right.
