No one cares about the customer tbh
att used to generate $100+ per wireless or satellite user. they are now chasing $14.99 streaming ($12 discounted) customers. i have HBO MAX that I share passwords with 10 other family members HAHA.
who cares, the dividend is strong.
they could care less they just want the customers to call some AI bot all the wile raising their prices.
Expect another snooty memo from McFresh, saying the media didnt present all the facts, just like the previous rebadge story.
Company spokesperson: “Rebadged employees can come back on anytime.”
Upper management has developed an Unconscious bias towards customers. Can I get an Amen!
Whoever said ATT cares about customers? They care about customers like they care about employees. They don't!
Forget trying to communicate with customer service or the internal help desks. You get transferred to someone who has just a basic understanding of English and their accent is so thick you understand maybe every 3rd or 4th word they say. It's ridiculous.
The only time customer service matters is when you get a less than perfect VOC comment. We have no people to do the work, we are given no time to do the work, we have no materials to do the work, nothing gets fixed, nothing gets replaced, but yeah......Customer Service.
Just more proof that they have lost sight of their core business, and competencies. Someone told Stephenson content was king and he bought it.
They will never care about the customers again. They hate them more than they do the employees.
AT&T has already restarted FTTC buildout but it is going to take the consortium of all communications principles along with government to quickly figure out how to formulate high speed service coverage for the whole country. Various forms of transport can be used ie... fiber, copper, wireless, coax, satellites.
Individual companies can’t afford to subsidize low density areas without some kind of (Universal service) tax/charge to build out the fiber/microcell network. Just like the original bell systems built out and maintained the old phone network.
I live in a very large metro and there are still a lot of highly populated areas that are only able to get less than 3 meg fixed line service. The remote or rural areas is even worse and the answer isn’t for everyone just move to where HSIA is available.
Customer service hasn't been a concern for the company for a long, long time.
As the article says, it's a business decision made by many telecoms. Installing FTTC is expensive!
- AT&T isn’t alone in refusing to upgrade or consistently repair America’s aging DSL lines. Numerous US phone companies like Frontier, Windstream, and Centurylink (recently renamed Lumen) have largely scaled back residential broadband ambitions, usually to focus on far more profitable efforts like business-class service or wireless video advertising.
