Info on UOP RIF's -
*~80 total (no official numbers known)
*5 voluntary RIFs in R&D (R&D volunteers were solicited back in December), all remaining involuntary RIFs
*Depts affected: R&D, Tech Service, Field Operating Service, Inspection, Sales/Sales Support, Engineering
*Locations: mainly Des Plaines, some in Bracknell (UK), small number in Delhi
*Years experience of those RIFed: all over the place, from recent hires to experts with decades of experience

Looks like UOP is losing customers to other technology licensing companies...CVR is one example....any other information on this?

Can't wait for my rif to come. Over 50 but plenty of opportunities to look forward to. The severance will be a nice bonus.
And then I can fight this S-hole from the other side. Plenty of HellWellHole's customers are hiring!

Vast majority of 1,800 US RIF's last year were heavily weighted at ages 50+. Big swing up at this age as Honeywell looks at you as a cost only. 35 employees average per age below 50 age . 55 employees per age from 50-64.

Oil is about to be branded as a criminal. Working in oil will cause you to be black balled worse than the nuclear engineers after chernobyl and fukashima. I would not blink if honeywell spins off UOP just to avoid the progressive stigma.
