Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Something Allstate did not count on.

I truly feel that Allstate felt that those who survived their bloodbath would be thankful and invigorated to stay..willing to put up with 2X, 3x, 4x the prior work load and job expectations........
They thought wrong..
Employees are voting on the decisions made by Allstate with their feet.
Employees are leaving in droves even forcing the company to contact some of those laid off, tail between legs begging some to return to help them to run the day to day business.
Allstate used to bill themselves with a goal to be “the employer of choice” for the best of the best graduating from college...
Those days are long gone and as they have moved into “sweat shop” territory, they no longer are an “employer of choice” to those already on the books who can afford to take their talents and education elsewhere.

Employers everywhere learned in 2020 that if you can do your work at home in PJs, so can someone in India at 1/8th your salary.

Poster below is the only guy (or girl) in the room that gets it. They don’t care anymore. All that matters is the bottom line. If you want to stay here shut up and do your work as fast and cheaply as possible. They don’t want your opinion or complaints. You are a number on an excel sheet, same as customers.

It is not something that "Allstate did not count on". This was all by design and they simply do not care. They planned and knew most areas would be doing double or triple the work for the same pay. This is all part of the plan. The "employer of choice" ideology went out the window when Glenn Shapiro was brought in. Employee morale, treatment, and conditions are of zero interest and concern to him. This is all a part of his bigger plan that benefits himself and other millionaires at the top. The feelings and opinions of employees and even customers are not at all taken into account. By the time the SHTF at the maximum level in regards to employees and customers Glenn, Tom, and the rest will be long gone with all their money earned for this debacle tucked nicely into their bank accounts.

The Allstate model sounds like the Sears model..
Those hotshot MBAs could Not service the customer or build a good store environment at Sears and we know how that worked out.
Those hotshot MBAs at Allstate cannot service the customer and we can guess what the customers will do in return....
Let’s talk again in 10- 15 years and see if Allstate has taken the same off ramp as Sears did...
Long after Tommy and Glen are dead and buried the damage that they did to Allstate and the Allstate brand and legacy will be quite apparent....
The Wilson and Shapiro families will be inheriting all of those Millions and Allstate will be to insurance what Sears is currently to retail...

The modern Allstate model is to outsource where you can, and hire the cheapest possible talent in Northbrook and regional offices to do the day to day operational work. Recognizing that there will be high burnout and turnover. Meanwhile Allstate will continue to try and hire the “best and brightest” of young talent out of college and MBA school to fuel its management ranks. The “middle class”’ at Allstate is methodically being eliminated. It’s the same with the other publicly traded insurance providers. A hotshot management class of employees on one end and low paid worker bees on the other.

You are nothing but a replaceable tool they can toss out when you get dull and they can replace the tool as necessary. You are glorified cattle working there.
