I dont understand why we dont push the picture quality of the DTV product we have especially with the Super Bowl upon us. Take one look at a side by side of the compressed cable product, Uverse or streaming for that matter next to a full blown HD DTV pic...its not even CLOSE if you have a great TV. That was THE hallmark of DTV forever, I suggest we get back to that and maybe get some customers back.....oh and the people that watch on their phones????? WTH man I thought it was whoever has the biggest baddest TV wins, not a phone...... ha just sayin! :)

maybe a frat house can pool their money together and order a dtv subscription cause that's what kids want these days...linear TV on a clunky receiver with appointment tv viewing LOL.
i watched the big game for free on the cbs sports roku app. no tv subscription needed. dtv is more irrelevant than ever!
satellite = better picture....but a 2 minute delay in live content over terrestrial signal delivery like over the air free tv or cable. sorry i not gonna watch super bowl on satellite when the rest of the world is watching the action ahead of me.
This is 2021. T does not want to roll a truck and have a tech spread or contract covid while spending 3 hours at a customers house. A customer that is likely credit challenged and can't pay their bill despite being locked in an insane 2 year contract.
Customers do not want an ugly dish on their roof that they have to sc-ape in the winter or on superbowl cause of snow . Snow is forecast on Super Bowl Sunday in the northeast.
OP is obviously a diehard DTV worker but does not understand that T DOES NOT WANT TO SIGN UP ANY NEW DTV customers that require a dish!! That is why they launched ATT TV because it has been publicly stated they do not want to launch new satellites and want to push everyone to streaming!
The other things is that although national networks like ESPN or CNN can be a fair comparison between DTV, ATT TV, Comcast, or Dish Network you can not guarantee that your local CBS affiliate will put out a superior picture. All of the local CBS stations across the country use different bitrates and the quality varies greatly. DTV can only retransmit whatever great or c-ap picture quality they get from local affiliates.
I've compared Hulu vs. AT&T TV mostly watching hockey and AT&T TV looks slightly better. They are not 4K. AT&T TV is 720p at the highest on mobile devices including computers. Need an actual TV or TV device for 1080p.
It is just another baby sitting tool for parents.
sorry i don't wanna be locked into a 2 year contract for $100+ per month to watch one game of a sport that i don't care about with teams in cities i never heard of....
What matter is it. Does everyone think they need to see the sweat dripping off the players? My 720p streaming is just fine.
I'll have to agree with the OP as far as technology, however the difference is typically only noticed by videophiles (niche audience).

i feel like the novelty of watching tv on your phone is wearing off. i could see it being popular traveling on business trips, catching something in the airport or hotel, etc but covid seems to have put a dent in that plan. just my two cents. i'm with the big tv crowd, but what would i know, i'm just a boomer.

AT&T TV doesn’t stream at 4K. The streamer itself has 4K output so you can see Netflix in 4K, but the AT&T TV stream itself is bad. I had Directv for a while and there was movie titles & some sports that were in 4K HDR. You’re right tho, the biggest baddest TV wins. Does anyone REALLY watch tv on their phones?
