Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I just switched and saved!

Goodbye, overpriced Allstate. I just switched to Progressive and saved over $300 every 6 months on my automobile insurance! One car, one driver, clean driving record, clean loss record, multi-policy discount, and 30+ year customer. I saved almost HALF by switching to Progressive. Allstate claims are handled in India now, so really, what’s the competitive advantage with Allstate that’s worth paying almost DOUBLE? My house and PUP policies are next as soon as I close on my home. I can’t believe that I never shopped around for my insurance to see just how expensive Allstate was. I was employed for 27+ years, and thought I should be loyal to the company that employed me. They showed how loyal they were to me, so I thought I’d return the favor :) I’m no longer colored into the “brand loyal” marketing box = stick it to the customers who have been with you the longest. S— it, Big Blue!

If you got laid off and haven’t changed your insurance, do yourself a favor and look around. Sorry, agents who are on this board. I feel your pain.

I been with StateFarm since I was 16 when I started driving on my parents policy. I now have my pup, home and Auto with them. I never switched to Allstate when I started working with the company because it was more expensive and didn’t make sense if it was going to cost more. After being laid off, I’m glad I wasn’t as loyal as they wanted me to be. I always knew at the end of the day they wouldn’t be to me. No regrets here!

Working there over 30 years I never c-apped where I eat. I have never understood that you need to have their insurance to be loyal Even though they used to pound that at us quite often. They have historically been The most expensive Sherance to have with sh–ty service

I got laid off in December after almost 35 years with the company. Shopping my auto/HO/PUP policies is also on my to-do list, especially with what I have read on this board regarding claims outsourcing. I feel like Allstate is circling the drain and it’s too little, too late to turn this Titanic of a company around. I have been paying too much for insurance for many years out of a sense of misplaced loyalty—but no more. I’m sure I can get better service at a much lower premium elsewhere.

I never wanted to have my insurance through my employer. Much like if I worked for a bank I would not bank with my employer. That is even aside from knowing the sh–ty claims and overall service of the company. The last thing I wanted to do was battle with my employer if God forbid a claim happened. I was with Esurance long before Allstate purchased them. At the time good rates and couldn't say a bad thing about their service. First renewal after Allstate purchased increased quite a bit and that was the end of them. Since being laid off last year by these scumbag I have made it a point to get friends, family, and even enemies to drop Allstate and get as far away as they can. Thinking about starting a program to expose this company on a large scale. After what they did to me and my family it is the least I could do. People need to get away from this company and we cannot let it profit if we can help it.

After I left ended up switching to Hartford, same coverage 50% less than Allstate. I stayed with Allstate only because I was a loyal employee for 2 decades, thought it was the right thing to do. How stupid and naive I was. I also was able to get family and friends to switch, Allstate will reap what they sow, karma is a b–ch$$.

That’s crazy! It’s unbelievable that they keep forcing their “value” down agent’s and customer’s throats, all the while, they bring nothing more to the table than overly-inflated prices for their coverage. I’ve been with Progressive for several years now, and I’ve been happy since switching. No problems at all. I didn’t save as much as you did, but the savings were significant enough to not pay the highway robbery, Tom Wilson & Glenn Shapiro pocket lining premiums I was paying with Allstate. 30+ year customer? Open your eyes, people, and see where loyalty gets you with Allstate.
