COBRA extended coverage per American Rescue Plan Act Bill for laid off employees

FYI: If anyone has recently been laid off and have passed the six months company subsidies for insurance coverage and did not elect COBRA per the American Rescue Plan Act bill they must reinstate regardless if you terminated it. As long as your within the 18 month from termination window the company is required by law to contact eligible formal employees about reinstatement and pay for 100% of cost and then be reimbursed by the Federal Government from the allocated funds in the bill. Contact at&t benefits ASAP to get more information.

The company must provide this insurance coverage between April 1,2021 - September 30,2021 at no cost to formal employee.

I was laid off in August and got 6 months health/dental/vis at regular employee cost, I just paid my first month of Cobra at $700 (single person). I saw this rescue bill passed and I’m eligible, but can’t seem to get a straight answer on how to get the $700 changed to zero. My bill shows I owe $700 for April, nobody at the benefits center can answer my question, if anyone here knows anything, any info would be greatly appreciated. I understand they need time to implement, but you’d think the benefits people would know something for once... thanks in advance.

Cobra...a joke ....before 2020 layoff I was paying $400 a month for medical\dental\vision coverage....Cobra rate was $1800 a month...hell to the no

Agreed, Cobra rates are ridiculously high/ Healthcare.gov had better prices but does not include dental.

I have COBRA that includes medical, eye care and unbelievable dental care. You can't even buy this dental care plan anywhere in the marketplace today that I've got.

Our state healthcare market is ridiculously priced on medical care alone. I'd be content to pay for my COBRA indefinitely.
