So it’s the big exit fir many managers And team members. Between the The club by working now and the club I used to work in. It’s gonna be interesting on April 4 to see how this place runs. I really do hope that they are downsizing the regional teams mainly the Membership lead which was really just a glorified title for a cheerleader! They go from clubs in the regions just to harass a.k.a. “encourage” team members to sell and push the credit cards. It’s the biggest waste of money I’ve seen this company use and abuse! In the meantime some states are still restricting returns. I work at one of the clubs were many of the items that we sell you cannot return so our members are already highly p-ss-d off. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like when there’s nobody here to assist them

We need to really come together and actually do this .. if your down like this if it gets enough like let's really do this cuz at this point the only ppl that can help us is us

Execs worked from home while we all worked in clubs exposing ourselves to covid last year. They all got filthy rich, and decided they want more. We were the fools that made them the big bucks, and now they have no more use for us. I hope they all choke on their money.

Commenting here is not enough! This company did me dirty after 8 years over at corporate, on call 24/7... Up until now I thought their January layoffs were the most despicable thing they've done, but this is the UGLIEST most inhumane thing they have EVER done. Unionize, bring it to the media, post it, let it be known to the members and the world that this is how they work! This company must go. Even if you were spared through this, how comfortable are you in your job knowing that they have no loyalty to their people and that the other shoe could drop at any moment. Meanwhile you have execs running around reaping the benefits of all your hard work, with their multiple houses and company paid security systems equal to salaries. Unrealistic expectations for the stores, always saying to do more with less. As much as this really s—s, there is better out there for all of you. I know it feels like everything is crumbling at the moment, but you're value is worth more than this company was giving you credit for and would have ever given you credit for. Tarnish their name, but anything from this point out is an upgrade from this greedy company.

Was a ok place to work, now you have NO flexibility don’t be lied to. They openly are saying managers have to work 47.5 hours and will only get a half an hour lunch and only be paid for 40hours. If you have people off management has to work the days that corporate wants so now if you are understaffed where your manager could cover they can’t do that anymore. Some “departments” are only staffed with 5 people and do a lot of business. So understaffing is a HUGE issue. They are letting go of management and have no people coming in to back fill and the new structure takes place soon from what I was told. There is no planning to do something just here you go and get it done now attitude. Upper management has lost touch with how clubs run but will come in and say you are doing this and that wrong but don’t realize you don’t have the bodies to accomplish goals. No work life balance, and while some managers try and show the “Values” they have most don’t. I get it we have to run a business but you can’t do that without valuing your people from top to bottom. If you want good customer service you may find that else where cause the mentality is sorry I can’t help you cause the person working is the only person there. Some will help because it’s the right thing to do but you can bet if they spend 10 mins helping a customer you will have to hear about it later. NO LUNCHES ARE EVER TAKEN DUE TO BEING UNDER STAFFED, NO WORK LIFE BALANCE, no team work, poor upper management, working hard for nothing, every con is stated above, lost sense of self reward, NO FLEXIBILITY, NO WORK LIFE BALANCE

Curious if anyone can answer me this question. I asked about a severance package since my position was being eliminated but was told I don't get one because they offered me a different position with less pay. Seems like some of the employees posting on here were offered a lesser position but still were offered severance. I am confused. Guess it's just another cheap way for the big shots to keep a few more bucks on the bottom line.

Bent over backwards for this company for years, earned star of the month 2x, then made star of the year. Eventually moved up into management within 3 years of being hired. Worked tirelessly through a pandemic, even traveled to help other clubs. And no, I wasn’t a manager who was getting paid a lot of money to “stand around”... first of all, let’s be honest, we weren’t getting paid a lot to begin with. There have been times where I worked 6 days a week, or worked hours after my shift time, with no compensation because of being salary.
Company has done nothing but brag about their record breaking profits over this past year, meanwhile managers and hourly tm’s broke their backs to help them get to that point, with very little incentive, for us to just be let go a year later. I wasn’t even offered another position, just told that I’m out of a job as of next week and was only offered a 4 week severance package, which is basically paying me to keep my mouth shut. I’m being let go because they know I was weeks away from taking my maternity leave, which they don’t want to have to pay out. I’m being let go at a point in pregnancy where nobody else will hire me now so I’m basically screwed. This company has gotten away with discrimination for years because they always find loopholes.

This is just another way for them to make up the huge loss they’re getting ready to take because they know they can never match last years sales. Those who were able to keep their job, took a huge pay cut with added responsibility. They have no care and respect for those who make their clubs run and it’s truly disgusting.

I helped open my club 6.5 years ago and am one of less than a dozen still here. Been the longest running MSS, star of the year 2 years ago, have worked 7 days a week for months at a time when someone quit cash office and now demoted to membership under people I trained.

The produce manager (entire department) is constantly stocking and restocking shelves. Keeping up with their work. Not just standing around. The bakery manager is amazing and can do more cakes than anyone combined. (All the bakery employees are great) . Customer service manger does everything. To helping cashiers. Bopics. Answering the phones. Shop back. She does it all. ( although all the customer service members are beyond amazing). All of the managers have a huge role in making the club run smoothly. And to just eliminate so many important positions and to cut their pay that they earned for being dedicated to this company for years. Some as many as 25 -30 years. And they are just out of a job.

How to go about starting a union. I was with them for 25 years and also got nothing offered but a 8 weeks severance package. Which I declined. How dare you try to use us to benefit the cuts!! What a time to think of this. No fair warning. Not to mention working tirelessly hours!! Very disappointed!! Classless. Cared nothing for their employees

I’m disappointed with Bj’s. After 25 years of service and working through the pandemic with barely no help and this is what they do to us. I feel horrible for all of us especially my senior managers who worked hard to get where they were. Definitely not the best decision they made. Moral is down and nobody will give their full potential going forward.

Make sure you all jump on free cobra because you qualify for it. April 1st to September 30, 2021. This includes all those who were involuntary terminated or had a reduction of hours. Even if it was not a COVID related termination.

Everybody.! What Bj's has done, especially during these times is just plain sickening. What we need to do is take this viral. Get this out not only to team members but to members as well. I am sure many of them will be appalled as well.

Use any means possible. Whether Facebook, Twitter, get word out to your local news resources on how essential we really were to Bj's. Send the Food Workers Union an email to have them get involved. If enough of us do maybe we can get them to support us.

Many towns and communities have Facebook pages where current events and town happenings are posted. They are very active. Example my town has over 68,000 active members. Many , many post a day . Take the time to let the community know what is going on at Bj's. Especially in towns with a Bj's location. If you are still are a active team member, but totally disgusted, have a friend or family member post it for you. Make sure it can not be traced back to you. Have them remove you as a friend so that the Politburo back at home office can't trace you and issue reprisals. Let the members know. Let's see what their responses are.

Ask them to please contact BJ's and let their voice be heard. Enough is enough!

This is all about Wall Street and Bj's stock price. The company knows they will not be able to comp last years numbers. When Bj's starts to report quarterly earnings that are not as strong as last year numbers the stock price will decline. The street has a short memory. They will quickly forget about the pandemic numbers. The Politburo will not be able sell their shares and pocket millions of dollars. Therefore, that is why we have what is happening at the club this week. The company is slashing across the board to try to keep earnings as high as possible. This company thinks that we as just team members are stupid.

Just submitted my rejection of their paltry offer. Sadly took quite a while to make that decision as I am diabetic and require the insurance as well as my son who has medication and frequent doctor visits. The insurance for me is critical and I'm worried that because I technically quit I won't be eligible for unemployment. I know decreased wages is one of the reasons for being able to collect so I'm hoping the roughly $800 a month I would be losing is enough to get me by until i get something else. I'm so disgusted with the utter soulessness of this company at such a time as this when people's lives depend on employment that they could make such a life changing decision for so many good folks. Enjoy staying at home in your mansions and earning millions off our backs!

I’ve been with bjs for 10 years now and I’ve seen a couple major changes but this one blows my mind. After a month ago finding out that shrinkage was in the upwards of a quarter of $1 million per club the past year I feel this is just the next step before bankruptcy. Eliminating high paid positions to capitalize on whatever money they can recoup before we show up in the chains are on the door. Perhaps you’ll sell the buildings to Costco and we will all be better off

To the mo–n from home office who posted below how change is constant. Go f— yourself! Anybody who got promoted was basically forced to take the position or be out of a job. The salaries they were offered for what they are expected to do is a joke.

Why don't you tell everybody how most team members were offered zero severance! How you snuck around to not pay any. You failed to mention that. Right now any team members left could care less about taking care of the member. In fact quit the opposite. We will now go out of the way to not assist the members. We are in a hostile working environment created by the wretched filth of a so called executive
management team.

As of right now we have maybe 2 bakery clerks, 1 produce clerk who is new, staffed in a club doing a million plus. Home office f— head explain to me how we take care of the business with that kind of manpower????? I hope your competitors are preparing to do more business. Everything you gained in membership and sales the past year. You just threw it all away.

I was an mss for about a year and been with the club for a few years, and while I am hoping for the best I don't understand how we will be able to completely eliminate that position and have a manager essentially replace us in a matter of weeks and at least in my club our suspected manager who is going to be the front end manager has never worked on the front lines, I have a feeling theses gonna end in disaster. My GM told me this was happening because bjs is loosing money.

Would have been 19 years in May. Put everything I had into this company and didn’t call out during the pandemic once. Company has been going downhill since Leonard green bought it. They care nothing about their employees or managers. You can go to McDonald’s and make more if you are just looking for any old job. They are cutting their own throat. Everyone that has been hired into regional/district/corporate roles are buddies of people at the top...and those people all came from other failing companies. This company will implode soon enough

This company is so poorly run. Management promotes the employees they sleep with and their friends. They’ve slashed employees salaries and gotten rid of positions this is how they thank their hardworking, essential employees. They have non managers temp check employees who come to work. God forbid the GM who makes six figures do it and if you say you’re not comfortable doing it, too bad.

The only thing constant is change. Times are changing and so are the needs of this business. Now the clubs will be able to have more employees to do the work, and managers will actually be able to focus on managing. I know it’s tough news for many, but there were employees who got promotions through this.

3 managers from my store are quitting from this bullsh!t. We don't have enough managers to run the store now. The GM is panicking.
Thank god I didn't accept the deli supervisor position when it was offered to me, TWICE. I saw how dysfunctional the company was. Whelp, time to look elsewhere.

Guess since the company wasn't able to keep the positions filled the CEOs decided why not get rid of them. Now they are expecting the hourlys to pick up the slack with no increased pay. How does that work when the stores are kept at bare minimum staff that are already overworked. Similar positions in other companies pay exceptionally better. We can't even get new highers that are worth anything, since most of them have been let go by those other places.
They need to increase pay for the hourlys, but we know they won't.
