Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Clearwater Termination

een with HW for six years. I started asking questions about non-compliance in regards to COVID and about the site leader having shipping employees taking government units to FedEx and UPS after hours in their personal vehicles. Next thing I know I’m fired for lunch time-card violations. Honeywell is ethical? Haha. Yeah, ok. Making it worse I have no access to my timecard or benefits information to file my taxes, etc. Do I get paid for my vacation time? Personal time? Do my benefits extend for 30 days? I tried calling the HR hotline and I’m on hold for hours only to get a lady in the Philippines that I can’t understand. Great times. If you are going to Clearwater or new there and you are reading this, watch out for The Witches of Eastwick especially ——————. . They will take their lunch time to follow you to the food truck in the parking lot, (cafeteria was closed for health reasons) and try to catch differences in your lunch clock in and out and then compare it to when you badged in and out of the plant. I had a 9 minute difference which common sense would tell you that’s how long it takes to walk there and back and use the bathroom. Honeywell was the worst job I ever had and I honestly feel sorry for the people still there chasing revenue to help the managers get bonuses. Rant over

Sounds like Karen complained too much and didn't cover their @ss. It's been known for years that if your time card doesn't match your badge out times you are playing russian roulette.... Ps masks a ridiculous. ..

Honeywell is the "Wal-Mart" of the aerospace industry.

"HR would only fire you if it was just."

OMG, "just" too funny!

They would fire you:
"Just" if it's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday
"Just" if you're an older white guy
"Just" if you hand out a Union leaflet on your own time
"Just" if you make a comment in public, off campus, on your own time, where another Honeywell employee there takes offense or hears about it second hand, and takes offense
"Just" if you're not interested in posting a "safe space" sticker on your cubicle wall
"Just" if you tell a younger/new employee that there might be a better way and their feelings get hurt
"Just" if you actually answer your boss' boss honestly at the skip-level meeting when they say "I want honest answers" right after they say "nothing's off the table and nothing leaves this room".
"Just" fill in this space____________

Lol, @enm, i suspect you are a demographic that honeywell HR has quietly labelled as protected. Non protected folks have a very different experience.
Example ... try being a fat person at honeywell...
I remember when that honeywell ethics hotline existed in Clearwater and i remember the ALT shutting it down because people were calling it.
I also remember when my kids were five minutes away and management cared about family and the community. Remember the fair every year for the special needs kids? Different company.

If there are government violations, report them.

If you entered incorrect clock in/out time its definitely an issue. HON can be blamed for a lot of things but not wanting to pay overtime is perfectly ethical. This seems like a case of not liking your manager for their gender and skin color

The shipping department is always hiring. Just say the word, “revenue.” Say yes a lot, wear your mask, don’t ask any questions, don’t eat lunch, etc... You’ll be a star.

CLW is a complete snake pit. The good 'ol boys are still running the place. If you no GOB you gonna get fired as soon as business slows.... Maybe business slowed and they needed you to send a message to the rest of the slaves?

Complete b—s—. “Policy” states not to send emails or IM’s if you are clocked out for lunch, too. What about all those working from home? Are you tracking their movements? Lemme guess, we love our jobs so much that we WANT to correspond with fellow employees/ customers during our lunch break. We also like managers following us around campus looking for mere minutes clocked in or out incorrectly in order to eliminate free speakers and those with a backbone.

Please refer to the ethics thread to read about how “just” this company is. Maybe we don’t know all the details in this particular case, but getting fired for complaints about non-compliance or ethical breaches has been reported before, and will not surprise anyone. Management through fear is the culture.

"HR would only fire you if it was just." In whose eyes? I was fired in Glendale for speaking-up in meetings .

You are not telling the complete story. I have been there for many years. HR would only fire you if it was just.
