Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Are you worried?

For back room operations and non-customer facing positions, what are your thoughts about the return to work scenario? Are you ready to go back? Are you already back? Or do you think your position won’t be there when it’s time to go back?

ServiceNow has a module that monitors and tracks every employee as they enter the building. Temperature scans and probably more. You will be required to come back to the office because they have lost control. A lot of people are taking advantage of not being watched all day but don't be fooled because they count every keystroke. They know whether you are surfing the net while you are on conference calls and when you are away from your desk. Read or Re-read 1984. The really slick part of the implementation is that we all give up our privacy in the name of convenience. Alexa is Big Brother and Facebook is "Two Minutes of Hate" that actually last for hours.

Work from home seriously s—s. They make you overwork and schedule meeting after meeting. Work load is unrealistic, hours are long

Another scenario where US Bank will fail to communicate well and set expectations and will become just another set of excuses to let you go or slash your bonus. "You did not come to the office enough days". Hypocrite baztardz... And if you are those who believe US bank can force people back into the office, have fun in a 19th century workplace. The future is here. Stop behaving like a freaking slave and thinking US Bank is your master.

I think if you look at job postings you have plenty that are work from home. If yours isn't one currently apply for one that is. It is that simple. We have more work from home jobs than we ever had.

I think there’s a certain amount of positions that will be expected to go back and I also think there’s a certain amount of employees who will not want to go back, citing that they’re perfectly profitable or accountable working from home. I am not going to get too comfortable working from home knowing that when the time comes I will be expected to be in an office setting. We’ve seen first hand That it works for some people and that it doesn’t work for others. It’s going to be time to do what’s best for the corporation and not what is best for people’s agendas. If you enjoy the flexibility of working from home, I’m sure there’s plenty of other companies out there but it’s not going to be US Bank going forward.

The person calling everyone lazy for putting in their 40 hours from home doesn't even work for us bank?? LOL Why are you even here? Shows how unhappy you are commenting on something that no longer pertains to you.

I like how someone thinks the company cares and will need to get "creative" with the way they schedule things now. The company will tell you when to come back to work and you will be expected to show up like everyone else in the branch has been doing since the start of COVID and if you don't want to I am sure they will find someone else that will

I don't work for that garbage corporation nor would I... I just know what "working" from home looks like and it's funny to me you act like you are so productive and don't waste your companies time.. Don't assume I am unhappy because I hit a soft spot because you are sitting around and feel guilty not lifting a finger.

I feel more burned out working from home than the office.

How is it lazy to say that we love working from home? Don't blame us for the fact that you work at the branch and don't have that opportunity to do so. Working from home does not equal laziness. Stop stepping on other people with your unhappiness and do something about your situation.

I love how all these lazy people are saying "I love working from home" I am sure you do gives you time to do everything else on the companies time clock while the poor bankers/tellers sit there and do the real money generating work

Once companies decide to return to the office, it's going to get real interesting. Can't think of many people that have worked from home for a year that want to go back to a full-time office setting. I know of a few people that have moved and now live hundreds or thousands of miles from their office desk. There is no way that they will ever return.

After a year of not paying for child care, parents are not going to rush back to paying that expense. Most employees are not looking forward to spending an hour or more per day in their vehicles traveling.

Companies will need to be real creative about how office schedules look when this is over. Flex schedules will be the norm. Working in the office does have benefits but...

Personally, I love working from home. And although I was in an office setting before the virus, I feel that this past year has shown that we do not need an office setting to do our jobs. Everything this past year from home has been working fine and we just save all docs electronically. Saving money and time on commute is big also. Am I worried about my position? Who isn't currently?
