Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

IPI range for top 10-30%

Will like to know how much IPI is given to top performing in from top 1% to top 10% in group.
Will appreciate how this $ dough is divided? Any insights from managers here

IPI is being taken away going forward. It was still in place for 2020.

They told us IPI was removed
In 2020 leading with distinction videos. They said it is because were are all in this together. Maybe they lied and actually gave it to exceeds. But the official was that it was taken away.

Mobility M2 with EI rating. Got $9800 IPI on top of full CPI, about $28k bonus. Also got the 1.5% raise!

Yep! So you work hard all year, nights weekends whatever it takes, and you get no raise? Oh yeah, because we are already overpaid, said the man who makes $22,000,000 a year. I am definitely doing the bare minimum this year, there is NO incentive to do anything more.

Today for the first time in years not only I got no IPI , but the smallest raise the system allowed. My current boss didn’t realize that the fact that I worked all year late weekdays plus weekends and taking care of many issues with no system support and supporting many organizations , didn’t seem to be enough to get monetarily recognized (not even with those small gift card amounts). I was loyal and I got NOTHiNG in return . But to my boss , and I know is reading this : what goes around comes around.

Got my IPI info today, was told only people with EI rating got one this time, it was $8900 which is less than past few years but still in the 8k-11k range

For context, last TSR was:

Min 67k - Max 144k

Now it is

Min 84k - Max 127k

Managers can spread the new spot awards around. More people will get likely smaller spot bonuses as opposed to one or two people on a team who would get a big IPI for the whole year. Unfortunately for top performers, they are going to get less, which doesn't make a lot of sense for incentivizing great performance.

This is just another cost cutting measure in disguise.

Usually orgs has a given percentage of their Team Award allocated for IPIs. That percentage isn't publicly available but based on anecdotes it seems to be about 10% of the TA bucket. Best I can tell, supervisors can't spread IPIs thinner. For example, if two people had great years but the manager has only one IPI to give, the winner takes all and the loser gets nothing.

My experience is similar to the others: $9000-11000

IPI was removed for 2021, replaced by the spot bonuses, etc. But it will be paid on 3/5/21 for people who "earned" it in 2020.
