4yrs ago

I remember approx 4yrs Big Corp got a nice tax cut of 7% we all got a $1000 bonus and At&t said they could hire 10,000 more people! Now 4yrs later over 15,000 layed off and this new President wants to from 21% back to the 27% tax! Hold on to your drawers! AT&T gonna use it for another out!

Here we go, more revisionist fake post. Everyone knows the stock market was off the charts and more people working than anytime in US history during the last admin. . If not for COVID, lockdowns and layoffs it would have been even more epic. After the big drop in due to COVID last year, the market rebounded and still managed over 16% return for the year. Can you say project Warp Speed!

Back to the days of the country being run by people that never owned a business or signed a paycheck but are great at spending other people’s money. Layoffs here we come.

AT&T had a huge net loss of jobs during last president admin. despite all time record unemployed lows in the country for almost every category of workers and race. An all-time record amount of people working in US history was also set.

My 401K soared over the last few years and even the worse one (last pandemic year) I still made 16.4%. Get ready for a change since new job k–ling memos and orders have been signed. I’m already moving my money to safer bets.

The promise for jobs for tax cuts is a fools game, so is the promise to hire veterans. These excutives have no intention or plan to fulfill any of these, and busy stuffing their pockets with cash. Politicians and journalists are spineless to hold them accountable, major stock holders turns a blind eye and the working people get screwed . Welcome to America, only the elite succeeds and others suffer, and fools are busy fighting socialist while the rich are picking your pockets.

Ready to go back to the days of higher energy, not many for hire signs, companies moving back overseas, revenues moving back offshore and more layoffs for overseas NWO lower wage jobs. You get what you voted for save when you can and reduce your expenses.

Finance had rosy predictions based on past profit and cost structure. T-Mobile ate AT&T's lunch in mobility with their price war while Netflix and YouTube k–led the content production and ad revenue, and these trends will only get worse. AT&T needs to get lean and mean to survive, and Trump's tax cuts only stymied those trends temporarily. Without them it would have likely been 50,000 laid off, but jobs in India will probably keep the overall employment numbers relatively stable. It's a bit fortunate that AT&T has long been an international company. There's half a trillion in liabilities that need to be accounted for, and when interest rates inevitably blow up, it'll be bankruptcy no two ways about it, which is good, because it'll allow AT&T to jettison all the union contracts and debt.

That $1000 bonus seemed to come straight out of the raise pool that year. My, and many others, expected raise that year was a lower percentage that magically worked out to be about $1000 less than the previous and the next year's raise.

The "bonus" ended up being an overall loss for me, as raises build upon each other, bonuses and lump sums do not.

"Laid" off. (Not "layed").
