Husky Fat

I agree, Husky has some fat to trim.
How about we cut out "Personal Use Vehicles" and save a few dollars and jobs.
That's right, Husky managers have unlimited use of company trucks. Unlimited mileage, gas and a new vehicle every 150000 km. Anyone else find that appalling?
I find it an unacceptable practice from a company in financial distress. How many jobs could we save by cutting this out?

Hard to believe company vehicles was still a thing at Husky during this long downturn and tighter margins...that has to be one of the first things they cut.

Anyone involved in supply chain coming from husky has already cost the company many millions in continuing contracts, especially the projects team that was $200MM over budget last they announced

Husky trucks had GPS installed a few years ago. Which doesn't matter as long as the speed limits are obeyed. The managers can go anywhere they want and they do. See most of them sell off their own private vehicles when they get a UPU vehicle.

The Husky Vehicles are not gps monitored.

Another big problem was expenses - managers would have subordinates pick up expenses to hide inappropriate claims.

These included $200 bottles of wine without any customers present.

This would go all the way up to the VP level

I could write a book about all the fat being eaten by managers at Husky...

"The personal use of a vehicle was part of the overall compensation program for leaders. How else do get someone to step into middle management role without some sort of an attractive incentive? Vacation on Vancouver Island, awesome good for you! Hopefully the base will be increased by the new company for those affected by losing this perk."

Most middle managers I know did it for the white hard hat and the ego boost.

This was announced last year that Unlimited Personal use vehicles were being cancelled on Lloyd. With the transfer I’m not sure if it was paused... I’m not important enough to be impacted!

Come on guys the personal use vehicle isn’t free, it’s a taxable benefit.

I know many that still do - some even rent out their work truck as a side hustle

100%, CVE will cut out personal use vehicles immediately. They haven't allowed that for a long time.

I know a husky guy was bragging he drove his work truck to Vancouver island every year for vacation. Yes, there’s some room to save there.
