I have not been at T for years but when I was on Christmas Eve i used to bring the family in the office and most got a half day off.
With all the pull backs Stinky did in the last couple of weeks, did he Scrooge this too?

Went away at Leg-T after SBC took over,
This was a nice tradition for Bell Labs in Holmdel long ago. Employees brought their families. Santa was there to talk with the kids. Tables were set up with different types of food and goodies to take as you passed by. For a couple of years, the craft vendors were invited in to show and sell their items. It was a nice day for everyone. Those days are gone, but the memories are still nice.

back in the bellsouth days - they would tell every one in the office to go home early over the intercomm
I started as MST in 97 and every Christmas eve we had a potluck and off around noon if everyone completed 2 jobs . That was back when management and union stiffs worked as a team. Complete opposite of how it is now.
This company has become the bum hole of corporate America...an absolute embarrassment to to the corporate business model world wide! Yes, Christmas Eve was always a half day worked as long as you had no orders. However, now it’s like pulling teeth to get a Supervisor to tell you to go home at noon! They would rather you sit around with nothing to do just to cover their own a$$e$! I can’t wait to retire from this disgraced once American icon expecting nothing for my departure other than complete jubilation! It’s very disturbing that these corporate executives continue to reward themselves for their multitude of failures while the thousands of work units bear the brunt of their failures! Try to have a very Merry Christmas regardless...

I too remember in the Southern Bell/Bellsouth days when we had separate lunches for Thanksgiving and Christmas and was able to leave a little early after the party. Grace was also said of being thankful for family, friends and another successful year. We also usually had a nice 2 week bonus not reliant on the stock price. Employees also brought family to work sometimes. It felt like family and all shared in the success and were empowered at all levels.
Fast forward to today, no thanks given , little to no bonus, benefits reduced , no lunches, no family, paying a lot more for benefits etc.. Isn’t the NWO wonderful, where people not in the elite board room or political office are just commodities to be used then thrown away when the next cheaper sweatshop opens.. Back to the gilded age of the serfs and the Lords. Time for another uprising
We were heavily loaded with work today. No bring the family to work (not that they would want to visit this sh!thole), no leaving early for Christmas Eve, no holiday party, no holiday bonus. Merry Christmas Mr Stinkey, you foul Grinch.64
Pacific Bell used to do this at their larger campuses until SBC acquired them in the late 90s. You could bring your kids to work on Christmas Eve and they would show films like Toy Story, plus Santa would always make an appearance. Sadly those days are long gone.
