Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Where are you now?

Many of you have moved on to other companies that are treating you right. I'm really hapoy for you, because you deserve better than HW.

Could you please share what company you're at now to give the rest of us some ideas for future targets?

I’m an angel investor. I work 2 days a week taking pitches from startups, evaluating them, deciding to fund. I’m in a group of investors similar to y-combinator. I make money on the exit. The goal is for the startup to be acquired.

35 yr Band 4 eng in mid 60s while at Hon. Not once did anyone offer to mentor me or actually mentor me when I asked. Could be the male managers were all VP Pence types about women back then. Everyone I mentored left HON.

My HON severance ends this week. Will go on unemployment for the next 10 weeks. I filed back in July post RIF.

Investing like this has government income requirements aka “qualified investor”. Either 200K for an individual or 300K a couple. Or you must have non-real estate holdings of over 1 million. Thanks Honeywell 401k.
I am so happy not to have to deal with managers and HPD. No person telling me I am lacking in some areajydt because they have to find something wrong with me. And I invest in things that make a difference.

Ironically one of my new mentors is ex Boeing and bailed there after 12 years. Her opinion of Hon is exactly what you read in these pages.

Worked 33+ years; invested, scrimped, lived below my means and retired to a ranch in the middle of nowhere. Social distancing is not difficult if you go to town once every 2 weeks or so.

This was definitely worth the sacrifice of dignity at work and lifestyle at home for those many years.

Raytheon in Tucson for me ... and I could not be happier. Opportunity in crisis as they say.

Cashing out my pension first, then transferring the 401k.... nothing left from Honey but memories (the good, the bad, the ugly, and the really ugly).
