Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Speaking of misleading PR

Charlie’s comments, yesterday, while speaking about the bank’s stress test:

“We remain committed to supporting our customers, employees, and communities during this challenging time.”

Right.

Employees living under constant stress worried about the next round of layoffs. No job security in the middle of a global pandemic. No I’m not really feeling supported, encouraged, assisted, strengthened, backed up, or assisted by our Wells Fargo management team. Let’s ask the employees who were laid off right before the holidays what they think about Charlie’s public commentary.

Go ahead and be a cold heartless CEO, but at least have the courage and integrity to be honest about it. Don’t be a shark behind the scenes and pretend like you care about people when speaking publicly.

I'm amazed anyone pays any attention to corporate speak. Wells is in a new phase in my opinion everything they say is insincere.

News flash they don't care about D&I its just branding, they don't care about employees you're just a line item like dell server. Break or get out of date and you'll be replaced.

In regards to Charlie’s little speech I call BS after being with the company 6 years I had to endure an investigation and have since been written up Also hearing snide comments about some of my answers! To bad HR doesn’t stand by retaliation!

Aren't they sending all operations jobs to India?

What a waste. They are hiring wrong people. People from these obsolete banking systems who only do more of the same. What a waste. I am sure a startup will take this industry over one day soon.

Puffery is a bs legal defense. Another example of the decline of decency in America.

Let me guess: you voted for Trump.

It’s called puffery, and Wells Fargo lawyers once (in 2019) made the argument that they could not be sued for misleading investors because everyone should know better than to believe a word their executives say. Because it’s all puffery.

Don’t remember? Don’t believe me? Just Google Tim Sloan and puffery.

It’s all BS, and what’s more, you should know it’s BS, and if you don’t it’s your problem, not his.

Nah, teamworks would be much better if we were on our way to being Microsoft!

The reality of the situation is that no one is truly safe. With that in mind, now is the time to prepare for a potential job loss. Brush up those resumes, keep tabs on the job market, network, use tuition reimbursement to get a degree, get an industry certification. These layoffs starting is a wake up call, and a call to action. Wringing our hands isn't going to make things better, and waiting to do something until you get a notice is the worst thing you could do. Be proactive and prepare. If you never get a notice, good deal. If you do, you'll be ready.
