Why does T have 343 technician job postings on its website for locations throughout the country? It’s hard to believe the available jobs are all contract positions. These positions are from Florida Andy the east coast and sun belt all the way to California. T is cooking up something big..
It’s interesting that I keep seeing that BSIM acronym being thrown around. That department name (Business Services & Infrastructure Management BTW) was changed to TFS back in 2017, then again to AFO and then the ACC shakeup occurred back in June of this year that moved it all again to what you see below:
Field Operations (Organization)
Customer Advocacy & Service (Department):
Cable Repair
Air Pressure
IP Broadband and IPTV (non DTV)
POTS and Legacy ATM DSL I&R
Network Engineering & Operations (Organization)
Core Network Operations (Department):
Central Office 4-Wall
Central Office Power
Digital Electronics Group (DEG)
Local Network Services CO (LNS)
AT&T Business - Customer Service & Operations (Organization)
Business Field Services (Department):
SSI&M
ABFS
LNS BFS (In region & our of region)
Network Engineering & Operations (Organization)
Access - Construction & Engineering (Department):
OSP Construction
Construction Splicing
Mobility Field Operations
Mobility MTSO Operations
All from Webphone so you can go look for yourself instead of guessing and just making stuff up. YW

What is a “material service coordinator”? Sounds like a warehouse position
What does BSIM stand for?
Mastec is known for having a very large fleet of nearly new line trucks such as Ford F750 or Freightliner Altec T40p aerial placers but pay the lowest hourly rate for contractors.
Surplus Classification: "technological/operational efficiency"
at the same time there are a ton of open tech positions posted
What are the rules of AT&T layoff musical chairs game?
How to Play
Play the music and have the players walk around the perimeter of the chair circle.
When the music stops, everyone must immediately sit in a chair.
The one person left standing it out.
Remove another chair and continue until only one person is left.
