AT&T explaining no dividend increase as raising profitability by investing more in high return projects. In reality, the company is struggling to compete based on past bad decisions and struggling to hit profit targets. T is in trouble and desperate.

Oh nos!!! What about the AT&T's acclaimed 'dividend aristocrat' status? Apparently that's been ruined like everything else at this company LOL.

Mismanagement has consequences. And there is no large company more mismanaged than this one.

Habitual dividend raiser AT&T seems to have shaken its habit, WOW....at least for now? IT HAS began.... they are just preparing the id–t investors, turning the curve in other words..lol

On Friday, the telecom giant declared a fresh quarterly dividend; the amount of $0.52 per share matched that of its four predecessors. This means that the company is not raising the payout, as it has done for the first dividend of every year consistently beginning in 2006.

Hey..HEY!! That ambition has been scaled back?

In Friday's announcement, AT&T wrote that it "expects to have the financial flexibility in 2021 to continue to invest in growth areas, in other words ......SHORT OF CASH, to sustain the dividend at current levels, and focus on debt reduction? ...ummm WHAT?

An email request from The Motley Fool seeking clarification was not answered.
