Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

COVID is dropping us like flies in Urbana.

Thankfully no one is seriously ill that we know of, but in between people being sick, or exposed but waiting for a test, we had like 30 people out. More confirmed and suspected emailed to us today.

I will give a hand to Honeywell for their efforts on site to promote COVID safety measures except for the faceshields. They do nothing if you aren't wearing a mask. They do help if you are wearing a mask.

2lvw, there is no way HON mgmt would ever admit to a death, much less due to a contagious virus. Only way to know is friends of the person.

Spreading fast in Greer too.

I'm still waiting to see real science showing how masks reduce virus transmission, not just Fauci and CDC flapping their gums with no unshakeable evidence. Hand-washing mandates would be more effective than mask mandates in reducing the spread of the virus.

Put your cloth mask on. Now light a c-gare–e and see if you can smell it. C-gare–e particulates have a size distribution of .1 to 1 micron peaking at .2 to .250 microns.
Yeah..you saw where I was going.
coronavirus particle is .125 microns.

Masks will help reduce the output of a cough but you need that n95 on the PPE receiver side of the equation.

Wash your hands. (With soap and water not nasty hand gel)

While I find it outrageous (but not out of character) that the company won't supply workers with appropriate PPE, I also belive that we must take responsibility for our own safety, just as we must stop and look both ways before crossing the street.

Would you get in trouble if you wore a more effective type of mask that you bought on your own? No matter what mask you invest in, it'll be cheaper than getting the rona. Ditto for gloves and/or hand gel.

Then wear a mask. How difficult is it?
Make your own cotton ones and for sure don't use the honeyhell cr*p.

We were given cotton Made in China masks and told to re-use them daily. I have found my silk and nearly see through bandana to be more effective at filtering Covid plus I can reach underneith and pick my nose without anyone seeing. I feel really safe now. With any luck I'll be waiting on my Covid test results just before Christmas ;-)

The only help Hon will offer to employees is what they perceive will cost them more if they don't.

Honeywell needs to be distributing their N95 masks to workers that need to be on site. Until they do, then they are not serious about C19 safety.
