Here is some insight to typical Husky HR b—s—. They say one thing like all jobs will be advertised and fair competition will be enforced. What a laugh, I have seen on many occasions were jobs were not posted and just given away to a managers friend.
The old boys are still in charge at Husky.
Hopefully Husky HR disappears in this deal. Cenovus will gain nothing from that crowd.
Why do all the posts about racisim at Cenovus at Husky keep getting deleted?

Seriously consider how your skills can cross over to other types of jobs. Think of reinventing yourself and trying something new. This may entail earning less than you did before, but sometimes you have to take a temporary step back to move forward. Going back to school to learn something new could be an option for some.
It's imperative to get started looking for a new job right away. Write down an action plan detailing how you will go about finding a new job. Religiously follow the game plan every single day. There will be days when you feel like giving up hope, but you must keep moving forward.
Start posting positive, gotcha. Here goes.
I am positive that our management will look after themselves securing as many positions as possible by splitting up roles and responsibilities. I am sure that you will see managers and VPs with half the staff as before but for sure we need them.
It's really easy to plummet into despair if you lose your job. You’ll experience anger, fear, anxiety, worry and resentment. This mindset is self-destructive. It will permeate all aspects of your life and erode your self-confidence. It’ll sap your drive and motivation. It's hard to do, but you need to stop the negative thoughts.
Even if you have a job, each day, you’ll worry whether or not you’re going to be the next one to get the axe. It may not be as bad as losing your job, but you’ll experience feelings of daily terror. Watching others get terminated is painful. You’ll develop survivor's guilt. There will be constant unrelenting dread awaiting that ominous call from human resources for a meeting. Start posting positive and see how all your mindsets change go out and get your new job and dont look back.

I find it funny that the Narcissist find it necessary tell us to be "empathetic" in these trying times. They don't realize it comes natural to us human beings. Ya they must stand around and repeat it to each other like a bunch of Borg.

Well in two words “yes sir”.
That sums it up as all management wants to hear is confirmation of their own thoughts. Anyone who even tries to say anything different has either been shuffled out of leadership or laid off. The remaining have learnt to say “yes sir” to everything and anything, that’s how the whole conoco deal happened. One guy in finance stood up and disagreed and then quit as he didn’t want his name associated with the deal. Then all the knobs at the top lost their jobs over the whole thing. History repeats itself maybe? First Brian and Ivor and now Alex and Jon.
Like Alex said no one can question the deal.
