Quite frankly, I can’t understand how there are so many employees sitting idle day after day and management is OK with it, yet T still finds it necessary to reduce healthcare contributions and pass more of the cost on to the employees! It speaks volumes about how poorly mismanaged this company really is! Shareholders really need to hold the BoD accountable during the next vote and vote all of them the hell out of this company and take their executive management with them!

Seems as thought we can afford to have employees sitting around doing but can’t afford healthcare

and starting next year they are cutting the pension contribution - but hey you get a couple of more holidays to offset your pain

I got 3 more holidays, but 5 fewer vacation days.

Near as I can figure, I'm going to have to retire at the end of the year to keep my retirement medical, such as it is.

Got to admire the cleverness of the cuts. Forcing retirement, with no severance or hit to their unemployment insurance, and those who become eligible for retirement "too late" will never have the medical insurance, saving that cost going forward.

Who cares if this pisses off knowledgeable employees and further contributes to the brain drain.

If we learned anything from the last year and the announcements .....Management from AT&T cannot be trusted and don't believe anything they say. If their mouth is moving they are lying or planning next attack. Management team has done nothing for the customer or the employee. All around S—

If you were spending 6 billion a year on healthcare for employees and retirees what would you be doing?

you bet companies are just drooling at the mouth at getting rid of healthcare and let the new socialized medicine take over from the government - what could possibly go wrong with that we see how they run elections.

Yes...subsidized medical for managers retiring after 2021 will be history.
So if you're a manager and were hired with subsidized medical as part of your hiring package and you have met your magic number for retirement....if you do not retire this year...2021, the subsidy ends in 2022.

I can't recall a year that healthcare premiums have not gone up over the last 15 years or so (management). Luckily I was able to get on spouse's insurance a few years back. Same products with significantly lower premium and deductible.

That said, I believe we are starting to see the last days of employer sponsored health insurance.

They increase every year genius. Just like every other company everywhere else. Why are you following an ATT layoff site if you don’t even work for the company?

You can’t get out from under employee benefit costs unless you force the employees to scream real loud to their government caretakers to provide mediscare for all. The best way to make the employees scream is to increase their out of pocket costs.

It seems to me “I read on LinkedIn” is part of the current troll template

I’ve been a non bargained employee for almost 25 years and health insurance monthly premiums, maximum out of pocket and percentage of employee responsibility has gone up every single year. I believe the bargained for side of the house has increased for last 10-15 years or so as well. This is in line with the open market also. You can absolutely count on all insurance premiums and over all cost going up with a larger portion being pushed off on employees as it negatively impacts the bottom line
