As painful as it is to admit this, the future batches of young, new hires, will do a fine job for T. As an old timer, it’s hard to admit that my skills can easily be replaced at a lower cost. Just a sad fact of life, I suppose.

company wants to attract new hires and stankey has stated that employees should not make the company a career. they want interchangeable parts. this year's move to reduce company costs by significantly diminishing benefits and what benefits are being cut shows company no longer wants career people or those over 50. we have someone in his mid-20s in our group. smart as a whistle but laziest person i've ever met – and in this company i've met quite a few! good luck AT&T: Stankey's workforce will be kids jumping ship constantly or H1 visas.
New hires won’t be around for more than a few me years. If they want to be successful, they will have to go elsewhere.
but there's no one left to show me how to back up the nortel tapes :(
OP, don’t feel bad and think you’re being replaced for cheaper labor...cheaper yes, skilled NO! I’ve worked with some of the new hires and believe me, none of them know the difference between a straight thru cable and a cross-over, don’t know how to terminate cable ends with RJ-45 jacks or even the difference between CAT 3 and CAT 6 cable. ATT is getting exactly what they’re paying for unskilled cheap labor!
Yea right....lol. I’ve seen ATT training for 43 years. There’s 30 years of technology out there in pair gain equipment. They’ll be stumbling around for many years to come!
I actually feel bad for new hires, few will have long careers at T and most will not be around long enough... Enjoy your stay old timers your the lucky ones
