Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Clearly AT&T actions show they do not value long term employees

Over the last months they have taken actions that show that they would like long term management employees to leave or retire. So look at these 4 actions and when you consider in their entirety they tell the story

  1. Reduce vacation days for employees with over 20 years
  2. Cap Salary at 120% of mid-point effecting long term employees at a level for many years
  3. Reducing Pension Contribution at over 50 by 30%
  4. Eliminating Health Care coverage starting in 2022 for eligible retirees.

Many have stayed here for these benefits and losing them is a clear indication of company strategy to get old people out - Is this a sign of discrimination?

Long term employees are the reason self righteous pricks like you have a job. They get old and retire and or die off and the company as bad as it is needs to replace at least some of them with folks with a good work ethic. Apparently that would not be you, because you denigrate folks that you don't know anything about apparently because you think of yourself as special. What a prick you are

Tenured managers were moved to stores that were then closed. The interesting thing is all those managers are older but if the store is closed it has nothing to do with age.

To the OP:

I'm glad you finally "get it."

Are us bargained for losing health care coverage in 2022 ? Or just those of you that decided you would enjoy working for the dark side ?

" Yeah, just like they did with Randy. It was well worth $30M to drown the company in debt. LOL you corporate apologists crack me up."

The board thought his time was worth that much! If you don't like it, you don't like capitalism.

"You should be grateful for what they are offering in this labor market."

Yeah, serfs. Get back to work. And let this guy get back to shining the Stank's Tesla. LOL. Where do these guys get the temerity to justify an inept C-suite destroying everything in sight to enrich themselves.

Yes, the company dropped vacation days for managers from 33 to 28 and added 3 company holidays (MLK day, President’s Day and day after Thanksgiving).

This reduces overall time off by 2 days. I believe they did this so they don’t have to pay out for unused vacation time for all the mgt leaving in 2021. As a single expense per employee it’s not a large amount. But multiply that by hundreds or thousands of mgt they hope will leave and it adds up. Another “screw you” to employees courtesy of Stankey.

The problem with capping pay is that the sentiment doesn't seem to apply to those in the C-suite, only everybody beneath it. Pay and benefits are capped and reduced for the workers while the clown(s) at the top are rewarded beyond all reason for their incompetence.

Also, very few companies even offer pensions or healthcare coverage once retired. You should be grateful for what they are offering in this labor market.

(And 28 days is plenty of vacation)

I must have missed something....what is happening to the vacation days? Right now I get 33 days total. Did they lower that for 2022?

No. It is an indication of the Stink's recognization of NO VALUE for the Longer Term Employee. Nothing more.
